Positive: Cute traditional guesthouse with lift; good size family room (double bed + comfortable sofa bed); parking right outside the hotel; decent breakfast spread with local products; super well located, just round the corner from the town’s Main Street. Very helpful and nice staff that gave us an explanation of where to walk and even restaurant recommendations (that was good!).

Negative: Couldn’t find a hairdryer in the room.

Summary: Clean, good sized, great location, friendly staff - zero complaints!

Positive: The hotel is in a perfect location in the center of the town. The owners/staff we super friendly, really doing all they could to make your stay comfortable. There were a small number of park spaces available next to the hotel, or a public car park with many spaces and pretty cheap just 1 minute walk over the bridge. The check in to the room was super fast and the room itself really spacious, traditionally decorated and inviting. There was an Italian/Pizza restaurant on site which was pretty good and the breakfast in the mornings was also nice. There are a number of bars and restaurants within 1/2 minutes walk. There is also a small lift in the hotel, which was really helpful especially having a baby stroller. Would stay again and recommend.

Positive: This hotel is centrally located and close to the train station. There is a wonderful Italian Restaurant at the bottom and they also have a take-away menu. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff are helpful however Matthew is in another league - he went out of his way to make my stay special and had helpful advice about the local area including hiking tips.

Summary: Felt very welcome, safe and comfortable and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Appenzell.
