Large, affordable Sunsetvilla on Eleuthera Island provides over 3000 square feet of tastefully furnished living space with all the amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. We have cable television, and high speed wireless internet along with all of life's modern conveniences including dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, waffle iron, microwave, clothes iron, washer/dryer, 2 A/C zones, and 3 outside decks, including a large screened porch on which to relax and enjoy the spectacular views.
Our secluded, ocean front, almost 1-acre site with resident hummingbirds has been graciously landscaped and has mature palms, casuarina trees, oleander, jasmine, orchids, and other vibrantly colored tropical plants.
The villa's large rooms are tastefully furnished to provide both casual comfort. The huge, airy, brightly lit great room has 12-foot ceilings, two expansive seating areas, and a large dining area seating up to 10. In case anyone ever gets tired of looking at the reflecting lights on the ever changing turquoise sea, or at the spectacular sunsets, the great room includes a TV, a DVD player, audio equipment, a built in custom bar, and a variety of reading materials and board games. Five sets of double glass doors in the great room and the two huge bedrooms lead to wide brand new decks which run the length of the house and overlook the Caribbean. Part of the deck offers a large covered screened room for those who prefer the shade. Two of the bedrooms have ocean-view decks. Another bedroom's balcony overlooks the garden.
There are generous sleeping arrangements for up to 8 persons in 3 bedrooms with a total of 5 beds. The 3 bedrooms include: expansive ocean front master bedroom with a king and a single bed. Its ensuite bathroom has a huge double shower, his and hers sinks, and a separate, private powder room. The largest bedroom has a 1 king and 1 queen bed. The third bed room has a queen bed. At no additional charge, on the lower floor, we offer a fourth bonus bedroom with an en suite bathroom that has a bunk bed with double bed below and a single bed above.
Multiple great room couches and love seats are favorite napping locations for children and adults alike.
Kitchen is beautifully tiled and fully equipped with all the dishware and cooking utensils anyone would want, including microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, waffle iron, as well as the refrigerator and stove.
There is a separate laundry area with washer and dryer.

Summary: My family of 6 (including 3 children and 3 adults) had an amazing visit to Eleuthera at Sunset Villa hosted by Robert and Susanne. The home was open and bright, with wonderful airy breezes thanks to the screened-in doorways. The highlight was the screened-in patio where we ate our meals beside the ocean each day. Susanne and Robert were in the adjoining guest house, yet we still had space and privacy. The house had everything we needed (including snorkel equipment and various outdoor toys for the children). The house is right by the water, which made exploring the tide pools a great activity during low tide. Sandy beaches are a short drive away so we had the best of both worlds. The communication was great, we were able to ask questions and got many great recommendations from them about places to visit/eat with our kids. If ever in doubt about anything house-related or the area, they provided an extensive guidebook for us to refer to.

Summary: Loved the spacious home with high ceilings and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Check in easy and hosts were always helpful. You can hear the waves at night when using the screen doors. Never needed ac when we were there. Comfy beds and furniture. Kitchen had everything we needed including a rice cooker. Also had a small propane stove to heat water for coffee when power went out- usually less than an hour when it did. Screen porch was great for eating. No see ums are frequently out this time of year, so bring bug spray and cortisone cream for bites. Beach is uneven coral so use water shoes. Once tide is out, there is access to sand where we saw starfish and you can carry the kayaks out for a paddle. Location is quiet and still close to Governor’s Harbour. Eleuthera Island Farm -order bread ahead to beat the crowds. Also fresh veggies and other items. Enjoyed Poponi Beach on Atlantic side-use Windy app to find out wind direction. If windy on Caribbean side usually calmer on Atlantic and vice versa. Also loved Rainbow Beach, Ten Bay Beach and dune buggy ride to Lighthouse Beach. La Bougainvilla (eat lunch and you can enjoy their pool) Sea View Restaurant at Unique Village, Bacchus, Buccaneers, Tippys, The Front Porch and smoked chicken or pork at 3 J’s Jerk Pit on Friday- go early before they run out- all great places to eat. So many more we haven’t tried yet. Look forward to returning to Eleuthera next year!

Summary: We had a wonderful holiday spending a week at Sunset Villa. 5 adults, so the bedroom set up was perfect. The owners made the check in effortless and were staying in the attached guest area, so they offered information on things to do on the island as we bumped into them during the week. They left us to our own and never felt like we were staying in the same house. The location has a wonderful coral beach where we saw many fish, starfish and multiple octopus. Eleuthera is not for the ‘resort’ crowd. It’s remote and unspoiled. And jt is definitely on island time- exactly what we were looking for in a holiday getaway.

Summary: My family stayed here for 5 nights and we had a great time. The water is not very far at all, but it is coral so you need shoes to go exploring. We enjoyed walking along the “coral beach” at low tide and checking out the various tidal pools. The gardens around the house are beautiful and support wildlife so we were able to see lots of birds and geckos. There is a screened in porch, which was a lovely spot to hang out. The bugs are serious here! Midges galore! The screened in porch didn’t seem to do much for them (and they were already in the house when we arrived) but it did protect against mosquitoes. It’s the islands, so expect some bugs and pack accordingly. There were lots of thoughtful details around the house, plenty of towels and sheets, beach chairs, and a well appointed kitchen. We mostly stayed at Ten Bay Beach, which was about a 10 minute drive. This beach is perfect for little ones, and since we were travelling with a 9 month old this was our spot. There are plenty of beautiful beaches on the island to explore though! We had a tough time getting take out in Palmetto Point (which is where you are), so I suggest Governors Harbor for getting prepared food and fresh fish to cook. Island Farms is close to the property and they have fresh bread a couple days a week, ample veggies, water, and beer too, we frequently stopped here. Overall we had a really nice time at Sunset Villa!
