Nestled amongst the greenery above the turquoise waters of the Caribbean sits the beautiful cottage aptly named Beside The Pointe. The quietness is deafening, the ocean view in front of you is pure ecstasy, and the sunset embraces you as it disappears into the water.
Between Palmetto Point and Savannah Sound, a mile off the main highway thru a greenery-lined track road sits your tranquil paradise, a perfect hideaway for honeymooners.
A private beach and the Caribbean sea are right below you down a flight of steps.
The owners live next door if you need them, but you won't see them if you don't want to.
Food stores and restaurants are a few miles away, close, yet far enough away from your quietness.
Ten Bay Beach, a beautiful mile-long pristine beach, is just a mile away.
Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, is just 15 minutes by car from the property. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won't want to miss it.

We have 4 sets of snorkel gear in a variety of sizes, an assortment of hand fishing lines with gear, 2 single kayaks, beach chairs, beach umbrella, a cooler, outdoor shower and a gas grill. There's also a stackable washer and dryer. We just installed a brand new generator to keep the house running and our guests comfortable during power outages. There is a back-up water supply as well.

Summary: We had a great time at Beside the Point. It is a cottage not real big but big enough for us. They had everything we needed at the cottage. We dined in quick a lot and everything worked well. The view is amazing and I would have to say the private beach was the best. We love to kayak but could not go as far as we would have liked because one of the kayaks had holes. But going out kayaking was very enjoyable. We saw a ton of ocean life. Thank you for your cottage on our 40th Anniversary.

Reviewer Comments: We knew it would be a great vacation when we were immediately greeted with such beautiful tropical landscape as you begin your drive up to the property. The view from the cottage is amazing. We were extremely comfortable; the cottage was very clean and enough space for the 2 of us. We enjoyed our lunch every day on the screened in porch. There were 2 kayaks that are available for usage and we took advantage and used them everyday out in the calm peaceful cove. It was great to have the beach towels and beach chairs also available. Please note, there are steps down to the water and they can be a little tricky to navigate, especially going back up to the cottage. It's definitely a good cardio work out on the way back up. I'm not a good swimmer but I spent every day in the beautiful clear calm waters here. Normally I need a life jacket, pool noodle or floatation device but not here. The roads and the drive to the cottage from North Eleuthera airport are not the greatest but it's well worth the trip. The rental cars are not what one would usually find here in the states, but it was reliable enough to get us around. Grocery stores are limited, and the costs are high, but I don't find that unusual for a Caribbean island. The Potlatch was our favorite restaurant along with La Bougainvillea. Tippy's was great as well. As soon as I get over some health issues, I'm planning on returning to this wonderful cottage.

The cottage was in a great location for visiting different beaches every day and conveniently located near grocery stores and restaurants. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable with everything you need. The screened-in porch overlooking their amazing view was a favorite spot for breakfast every morning followed by kayaking and snorkeling off their beach. We would definitely stay at Beside the Pointe again!

We have made numerous trips to Eleuthera, and this was by far the best vacation yet. We were searching for a private getaway, and this house was perfect. I was concerned about the owners being right next door; however, Sharon and Keith were terrific hosts and made us feel completely at home. They were there to assist with questions and valuable tips; otherwise, we never saw them. Sharon's mangoes are delicious!The views of the Caribbean from the property are breathtaking, but the pictures on the website do not do it justice. The cottage is in perfect order and extremely clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed sitting outside on the screened porch and enjoying our meals without fighting the mosquitos!We spent most of our days there on the private beach. The path to the beach is easy to navigate, but water shoes are a must. There is plenty of sand and lovely shallow waters for swimming and floating. To the right, there is fantastic snorkeling along the coral. We saw an array of beautiful fish and a few curious sting rays. After playing in the water all day, we sat on the beach chairs and soaked up the stunning views of the Caribbean. Ten Bay Beach is one of our favorite beaches, only a mile from the property. Island Farms is also nearby. It is a must for fresh fruits, vegetables, homemade breads, and meat. We stocked up on our way in and prepared many tasty dishes. Buccaneer and La Bougainvillea are excellent dining options in the area. If you arrive at North Eleuthera Airport, stop at Delish Lifestyle in James Cistern. They have lovely food and drinks, and the owners are welcoming and unforgettable.Our stay this year was nothing short of perfect. We are grateful to Pam for always helping us plan an unforgettable vacation and to Sharon and Keith for being the perfect hosts. This home was exactly what we needed for a rejuvenating exp

Summary: Having seen the images and read the reviews we knew we were going somewhere nice but none of that does this place justice. It is super clean inside the cottage with everything we needed for our almost 2 weeks stay and we had the whole beach/bay to ourselves! The view is truly amazing and the water is shallow very far out so it was great for walking in and swimming (with water shoes for the rocky shore). Screened in porch is great! The owners of the property that live right next door are so friendly and kind. They have put much work into the upkeep of their place and gardens to make this feel like home away from home for the guests. They were very helpful and informative whenever we had questions or wanted their recommendations of what was close by. I loved the lush bath towels and great set of pots and pans for preparing our own meals. Those were some things that were above and beyond what was expected at a vacation rental cottage. :) Thanks again for a great vacation!
