Charming vacation cabin, newly restored. All the charm of yesteryear with all the modern luxuries you have come to expect. The cabin is beautifully decorated in classic style with the original 80 year old pine floors. The original fireplace with gas logs. Beautiful queen cherry high bed, cherry bedroom suite with sled bed, white wooden bedroom suite. The screened-in back porch has wicker furniture. Come sit on the front porch and rock in the white wooden rocking chairs and watch the deer in a near by field.
Alderman Worrell Cabin is located approx, 5 miles from Mount Airy, the hometown of Andy Griffith, Mayberry Day with a lot of the cast from the Andy Griffith Show, hometown of Donna Fargo and Miss Winston Cup (1982), Largest open face granite quarry, Pilot Knob Park, 8 winery, antique shops, golf courses. Galax ,Va is approx. 18 miles from cabin with shopping, antique shops, Fiddler Convention, and rafting. Blue Ridge Parkway is 10 miles away with the rustic Mabry Mill, Floyd Fest, Golf course, winery. Hillsville has the Labor Day Flea Market and Gun Show. Relax and Enjoy !!!

Summary: We loved everything about our stay! I appreciated the extra condiments, coffee, etc. in the fridge. There are extra pet bowls on the porch which was also very convenient. The cabin is nestled near the road, but there was plenty of yard, and not a lot of traffic so I didn’t worry about my animals safety. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas and lots of nice touches! The beds slept great too! Very clean! Loved the fireplace with remote control. I also love the fact that it’s so close to downtown Mt. Airy, but still has the mountain cabin feel. We were miles from the Blue Ridge parkway and enjoyed hopping on it yesterday and just sightseeing the rolling hills. Pilot Mountain State park is close too! Something I found fascinating is that some of the best sushi I’ve had is located in downtown Mt. Airy! Get the pineapple bacon burger at Barney’s. Try the shrimp tacos at Soho and eat at The Gap Deli in Fancy Gap/ try the Reuben! Until next time- thank you Carolyn

Summary: We had a great stay in cana. The house is decorated very cute and has a nice fireplace. The host was super nice and very good about communications and about the area. It was very clean.

Summary: My family and I celebrated Christmas at this cabin. Carolyn made sure that the home was nicely decorated for the holiday. As a matter of fact, there was a tree in the living room, a tree in the master bedroom, and lots of beautiful decorations throughout the home. We definitely experienced a "Country Christmas" this year. Also, I can't say enough nice things about the owner, Carolyn. We spoke to her prior to checking in, and learned so much about the history of her family home. Also, she called us after our arrival to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Of course, it was. It was also one of the cleanest and most well-stocked rentals we have ever stayed. There was even a bed for our dog! The cabin is located about four minutes from downtown Mt. Airy and is close to shopping and restaurants. I could go on and on about this cabin and its owner, but I will end by saying that I would not hesitate to stay here again, nor would I hesitate to recommend it to others. Summary: We were visiting family in the area over Thanksgiving Break. The cottage is beautiful had everything we needed in the kitchen and elsewhere. It looks very nice and fancy on the inside and the beds were very comfortable. The host was very sweet and called to check in on us and tell us about her family's history surrounding the cottage. The house is located right on a street so it does not lend itself to having your dogs (or kids?) roam around freely in the front. In the back it's safer and more remote from the street but there are some neighbors with dogs and if your dogs don't listen well they may run off as there are no fences. It's quiet and a peaceful and my spouse and I and our doggies had a wonderful time there. I would definitely stay there again and the price was very fair compared to other nearby properties.

Summary: My husband and I (and our 9 pound maltese) really enjoyed staying at this lovely cabin! Very clean, cozy with all the conveniences of home and, a very comfortable bed in master bedroom (the other beds appeared to have same type of mattresses)! Carolyn, the owner is a delightful lady that was kind enough to call and share the history of the cabin that she grew up in! The cabin is well stocked with plenty of linens and kitchen ware and an easy ride to Mt. Airy, pilot Mtn., fancy gap, etc. We truly hope to stay again in the future!

Summary: My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway to Mt. Airy and loved this quaint, cozy cabin. It had everything we needed and was convenient to Mt. City, Pilot Mountain, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owner was so wonderful and told us the history of the cabin and its sentimental value, which made it even more special. We plan to return to the cabin the next time we are in the area.

Summary: Location was convenient for our purposes. House close to road, front step was steep, house needed a good spring cleaning and third bedroom access by going through another bedroom. Owner called to check on our comfort and tell us the house's history.
