Welcome to Rustic Ridge Retreat. A long time VRBO destination, this charming cozy cabin offers tremendous views of the Piedmont stretching across multiple counties of northern North Carolina, and the southwestern edge of Virginia. A very private and secluded setting with all the amenities of home. Enjoy the rocking chair front porch while taking in the view or watching for wildlife including deer, red-tailed hawks, wild turkey, groundhogs, and, in the summer evenings, fireflies.
Location is key…. just off the Blue Ridge Parkway (approx 1.3 miles), you can explore historic buildings/sites, stop and take in breathtaking views, and experience the beautiful seasons the parkway has to offer. In addition to the parkway, the area offers something for everyone to enjoy…music festivals (Mt Airy, Galax, Floyd), wineries, photography opportunities, golf courses, antiques galore, hiking, biking, and so much more.
The cabin includes two large bedrooms - one downstairs (primary with king bed) and one upstairs (queen and twin). The loft includes additional sleeping accommodations (queen/ twin), if needed. A fully equipped kitchen, living room, and two and one-half bath complete the cabin. Outside you’ll find a the front porch with fabulous views, back porch with grill, and a fire pit to enjoy on chilly nights.
The cabin is equipped with a whole house generator to ensure power stays on during stormy weather.
We welcome your four-legged family members (dogs only). The purchase of an insurance policy is required during booking. Insurance policies protect both the renter and the property owner for damage. Life happens, so these policies are just that…insurance for the unexpected and unintended.
Cancellations: Your reservation is fully refunded (minus the VRBO guest service fee) if you cancel at least 14 days prior to your arrival date, or 50% refundable if cancelled 7 days prior to your arrival date. No refunds are allowed for cancellations shorter than 7 days. Insurance policies purchased are fully refunded by the insurance company upon any cancellation prior to arrival of your reservation. VRBO’s ‘Guest service fee’ is not refundable.

Summary: The view from the cabin is gorgeous. We could see all the way to Pilot Mountain. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was apparent that thought went into all the amenities provided. Hopefully we will be able to stay again soon.

Summary: Nice, clean and as advertised! Owner was great in communications. Only reason for a 4 star vs a 5 the only deck/view is from the front and the deck is pretty small. A large deck with a hot-tub with those views would be a 5 star! Also, again, as advertised (& I knew in advance), alittle ways out from things to do (Mt Airey, etc). Minor issues with furnace, but got those sorted!

Summary: Property is real secluded 30 minutes to get to grocery stores or any fast food so pack your food and cook for yourself and enjoy the quiet secluded cabin.

Summary: House was amazing, views were amazing. Great stay, beds were comfortable, amenities were great. Would recommend staying if your into relaxing. Definitely keep this for future visits.

Summary: We really loved this property. Three bedrooms and 2.5 baths made it easy to have six adults and our doggie. The home is well appointed and the back porch offers great views.

Summary: Our family thoroughly enjoyed the stay in this beautiful cabin. My mother said it was the nicest place she had ever stayed in . We loved walking around the area and eating in the deck while taking in the sunset. We will be back!

Summary: We would have liked for the view from the deck to have had a better panorama, if the top of the trees hadn't been so tall it would have been spectacular, as it was from upstairs bedroom. But even with the small view, our mornings and evenings on the deck, the four of us having coffee, wine, devotions, conversations, were such a blessing.

Summary: Lovely place, excellent communication, clean as a whistle! The kitchen had everything we needed, safe environment. We have been coming to Fancy Gap/Cana for over 25 years and love it! The only difficulty we had was the height of all the beds. Our 90 year old tiny mother could not safely get up and down from any of the beds so - she had to sleep in a cot we brought along. She is very fit for her age but we were not willing to risk injury. There are only one set of stairs to the deck but they are easy to use. Thanks for the memories!
