Quietly nestled on 1 acre of oceanfront property, our cozy island-style house offers spectacular views of Ten Bay Beach which Frommers Guide 2010 calls 'one of the best beaches in The Bahamas, with sparkling turquoise water and a wide expanse of soft white sand.' Calm, shallow waters await swimmers of any skill level and those who like to fish and snorkel.

Summary: Exactly what we wanted & expected. Excellent beach and perfect location to relax & get away from it all. I would suggest checking out the house first and then heading out to get food & supplies. Many things are provided, but we had no hand soap or toilet paper the first night.

Summary: The location of this house is without parallel! You can walk out the back door and be on the most beautiful beach imaginable. There is wonderful snorkeling nearby - we saw skates and tons of colorful fish. The biggest highlight was kayaking with dolphins in the next cove over! Magical! The house was well equipped with tons of towels, kayaks, snorkels, washer/dryer and had good screens to keep bugs out. The water pressure in the shower was excellent too. We enjoyed visiting the farm and Anne was so helpful and kind to open the store for us when we arrived so we could purchase some provisions. The area is a bit remote - which we thoroughly enjoyed. Eleuthera is not very developed so you will find gorgeous empty beaches everywhere!! We explored the Club Med ruins and visited the stunning French Leave pink beach. However, the house itself is in need of some TLC. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows need immediate replacing. They were old and flat as pancakes. The toilet seat was broken and the kitchen counters need replacing. As others have mentioned there is no place to sit and eat. The stools at the counter are rickety and of the wrong height. There was a flimsy plastic table set in the back of the house so you could not enjoy the view while eating. We ended up re-arranging the furniture so we could sit inside and look out. There is no place to unpack and store your clothing. The only cupboard in the bedroom was completely filled with towels and other items. Also note, as is normal in this environment, the bugs are bad - we were covered in sand flea bites. Do not sit in the sand - repellent does not work well against these bugs. We did not sit outside to eat as even with repellent and a mosquito coil going, we still got bit. So just be prepared.

Summary: If you are looking to be 3 steps out on to Ten Bay, this is your place! Everything here was as pictured, comfortable, and clean. Communication was prompt. It was a bit pricey in comparison to other homes I have stayed in on the island, but for a last minute solo trip, and seeking to be at the warmest/calmest spot on the island, it did the trick!

Summary: Well kept house. Perfect for two. Property manager was very helpful. Location is amazing, Ten Bay was our favorite beach. Calm water, fair shells, fair snorkeling off to right around rocks, kayaks very fun.

Summary: After having to cancel a year ago due to covid travel restrictions (the owner was very kind and accommodating with us!), we made our attempt this year, and were truly amazed at the experience. A perfect cottage for two, steps from an incredible beach—the sunsets every night were incredible! (But bring a little bug spray as the no-see-ums would come out around dusk). The Island Farm just up the road was a perfect spot to find fresh produce, breads, snacks, meats, and even a liquor store! Tip: go early on Tuesdays to pick up some fresh cinnamon rolls! Ten Bay was a great beach for snorkeling. The south and north ends had some nice structure when the tide was up. We visited Lighthouse beach(good snorkeling here too if calmer—definitely make the drive and spend the full day!). French Leave, and Navy beach were both very nice too. Plus it was cool (history-nerd kind of way!) to check out the old Club Med ruins and the old Navy base. We took a partial day off from the sun and checked out the Leon Levy preserve. Nice shaded trails and a nice collection of the plants and history of the island. We capped that off with a nice dinner and drinks just down the road at Tippys. Wonderful beach bar/restaurant. Thank you to the owner for sharing this wonderful home. It was everything we were looking for! The AC was excellent when the humidity got pretty high, and it had everything we needed to make some nice breakfasts for out on the porch, the cooler made it great to bring snacks and drinks to the beach (don’t forget to bring some bags to carry out your trash—the beaches don’t have garbage cans), and we made some wonderful dinners as well. The evenings were pure solitude (the stars are amazing from the beach!) and the few visitors we saw at the beach usually left around 5 or 6, so an evening swim left you with the whole bay to yourself. Thank you again! Truly wonderful! Definitely coming back!

Summary: The Amori House is a great value for the money considering it's location directly on Ten Bay Beach. When we arrived to Amori House there was a small maintenance crew there with the doors already opened. They were there checking the appliances and then met with a water delivery truck to have the cistern refilled. We weren't notified of this, so it was a bit surprising to see a small crew of guys gathered at the house upon arrival. The location of the house is ideal, situated directly on Ten Bay Beach in Central Eleuthera. This allows for easier travel across the entire island, including Current to the North and Lighthouse Beach to the South. Ten Bay is an awesome beach, so we had a few days of just hanging out at Amori House. It's a HUGE plus that Amori House includes the use of kayaks and SUPs as well! Those were in decent condition and we paddled around Ten Bay a few times. The house itself was in decent condition, except for the french doors on the beach side. They were recently replaced but don't latch properly, creating a security concern and user inconvenience. There's no way to enter/exit through these doors to the beach then lock/unlock them, so you have to secure these doors, exit through the front door, then walk around the home to the beach. Also, when secured the french doors do not seal correctly, so there are small visible gaps in the door jam. The house is located directly next to Ten Bay Beach public beach access parking lot, so it was common to see people at the beach congregated directly outside of Amori House. There was even a couple times we had to walk through/around a group of beachgoers to get to the water from Amori House. If you're looking for a home on a nice beach that doesn't break the bank this is a good choice. Just don't expect four star accommodations or complete seclusion while staying here.
