Summary: We had a great holiday in São Martinho do Porto, not in the least thanks to this very lovely, spacious apartment that we were staying in and that had everything we needed. Imagine having your dinner looking across the swimming pool at a beautiful sunset. Walk to the side of the garden to have a fantastic view from there on the bay and the town below. Take a 10 minute walk to that bay to go swimming or do that in the evening to find many restaurants where you can enjoy dinner at very affordable prices. All things that make this a great place to stay. On top of that, our great and very friendly host Maria made everything easy for us, there was someone to receive us on our arrival and make us feel welcome. We made a lot of trips to sites nearby, like Obidos, Leiria, Sintra, Peniche and Lisbon, which is just over an hour driving. It was always a pleasure then to return to the apartment, cool off a bit in the pool or just relax and prepare dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. Thanks to both Maria and Vitória for making us feel comfortable and being available for any questions we had. We've come to love this part of Portugal, so we are sure to return someday!

Summary: A wonderful apartment in the most perfect setting to watch the sunset at the end of the day in this beautiful area. Maria was a great host who went above and beyond ro make sure we had everything we needed. Would definately recommend a stay here if you are lookkng for all the comforts of home and fantastic views close to lots of amenities. It is up a very steep hill but if you have a car or enjoy hill walks then it couldnt be better placed. The pool and grounds were maintained to the highest standard. The pool is very big and kept at a perfect temperature for a nice swim. Thankyou Maria

Summary: Fully equipped, well kept, clean and tastefully designed apartment. Direct Access to the pool. Great view on the Atlantic Ocean from the terrace and the pool area. The apartment only a (partly steep) 10-minute to Sao Martinho do Porto (and 15 minutes for the way back uphill) with its beautiful beach. Maria is a really nice and helpful host (we got some great recommendations for restaurants).

Summary: The apartment is very nice and Perfect for a family - and so is the pool. The view from the terrace is ansolutely Stunning. There is plenty of things to do and see in the area when the Sun don’t shine. We recommend the special market in Óbidos during july as Well as the monestary in Batalha and the castle in Tomar. We also took a Day trip to Porto. All in All We had a Nice time and Marias flat. Maria is very helpful and easy to get in contact with. Thank you Maria 👍🏻

Summary: This apartment is marvellous, perfectly located for both Sao Martinho do Porto and many out lying towns and villages. Wonderful for day trips to Nazaré, Tomar, Obidos, Peniche and so much more. Maria is a delight to work with, she communicates quickly and very well given our poor Portuguese, and little French. She share loads of information for restaurants, places to go, farm markets and even where to get a haircut! The apartment is lovely, very clean with a great bed, top priority for us. It is ground level, poolside lovely for these hot October afternoons and with views of beautiful sunsets sitting with your evening wine. A special thanks to Maria, who came to our rescue when our next booing did not work as planned. She accommodated us quickly ensured we were settled back in, and even assisted with a phone call. Summary: Upon arrival we were greeted by Graca, from this moment we already felt at home, such a warm welcome. We entered the apartment and certainly were not disappointed. Exactly as described, a very large open plan lounge/diner, a large kitchen, 2 comfortable double rooms and 2 bathrooms. Outside there is ample space to also eat, which we did for breakfast and evening meals on many occasions. The apartment is very spacious, all modern conveniences and most important it was very clean. Out the back you have a patio area with dining table and also stools to sit in the sun. Literally a few steps further and you’re in the pool. The pool is shared but there is plenty of space for everyone. There are also two smaller pools which the children used daily. The view out the back is also stunning, here you can watch the sunset or just gaze into the Atlantic and let your dreams begin. To walk to the village is down quite a steep hill, actually getting there is no problem it’s getting back up! This may be a struggle for elderly or unfit people although we walked it every day. São Martinho do Porto itself is a quaint village, you have a large horseshoe bay leading all the way around to Salir do Porto, the sea in the bay is very calm and perfect for children. The beach is very popular although there is ample space, it is also very clean with beautiful sand. Along the boulevard there are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants. We highly recommend Acasa restaurant along the front, here you can enjoy fresh fish and a view over the bay, all for a very reasonable price €30pp for 2 courses and wine (although this is deemed expensive compared to the other restaurants). There is also a very nice fish restaurant (Pesea no Prato) on the side of the bay towards the lighthouse. In the village there is a market every day where you can buy fresh fruit/veg/fish & bread. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts of the village where you can find everything you need. One place you definitely need to go is to the Pastelaria Concha in the middle of the village, this place is very popular so waiting for 10-15 minutes to be served can occur but it’s busy for a reason. Places well worth a visit are Obidos, Nazaré, Salir do Porto, Foz do Arelho, Leiria, Alcobaca and Lisbon. There are many other beaches close by although the sea is rough and not suitable for children/weak swimmers. To summarize, we had a lovely holiday and will definitely return. Thank you Graca.
