Summary: Our family loved Arlene's escape cabin! The cabin was just what we hoped for as it was set on a beautiful, quiet, peaceful setting but was only a 15 minute drive to Walmart and a 30 minute drive to visit our daughter who attends Liberty University. Be sure to check out James River state park which is a short drive away if you like hiking or kayaking! The cabin was very clean and had an amazing wrap around deck with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery and views, we really liked the fact that the owners have a hot tub with automatic cleaning settings and an amazing fire pit with wood that was provided. Communication with owner David was quick and helpful. Our family is already planning our next visit to Arlene’s cabin and we highly recommend to visit yourself if you want a break from city life or a nice quiet retreat.

Summary: This property was even better in person than the pictures portrayed! It was very clean and comfortable. The outside space was amazing! Fire pit, swings, grills, cornhole, porch swings, hot tub and entertaining area, wrap around porch with beautiful view. Kitchen was well stocked and the farm fresh eggs were a thoughtful touch. Our five kids had plenty of room and privacy to run around outside on the property and play. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing in the pond and everyone caught several fish! Our host was very informative and responsive. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Summary: My wife and I have booked our share of VRBO's over the years. It always amazes us how many property owners "miss" the opportunity to bless their renters in small ways that are impactful. This was NOT the case this time, David blessed our family with generosity, grace and did so in a way that warmed my heart that many people still "get it" when it comes to kindness and truly exemplifying true hospitality. Thank you David, my Liberty graduated daughter was blessed as well as we were. Hope to be back ! I have to add a PS lol, there were more 2 things that stood out, the jacuzzi was new and updated, clean and just a real hit to relax in. The other was the "bed" swing on the porch, I have never saw such a swing, BIG hit with everyone. I highly recommend staying here whether you are a couple looking to get away or a family needing some rest and relaxation with no one around, you will find this place to be quite a gem. Thank you and may God bless you and your family.

Summary: We were three couples who stayed two nights over the weekend. Lots of great things to say about the place - clean, great outdoors space, immaculate hot tub, and kind responsive hosts that treated us to some of their fresh eggs and garden goodies upon arrival. They provided delicious coffee as well, which was a total bonus! The kitchen is small but pretty well stocked with essentials. We enjoyed walking the trails around the property and hanging out by the pond. To note, the doors and handles are cabin-lock style and are a bit noisy opening and closing. Sound travels easily throughout the house. If you’re a very light sleeper, would recommend a sound machine or ear plugs. Would recommend!
