Positive: The rooms are spacious! We got the B room. The communal onsen had lots of amenities such us hair ties and basic skin care.
Negative: We got room B which had a beautiful tub but it wasn’t hot spring. I wish they could do something about this. Also, the hotel is on a steep hill, a little tiring to and from.

Positive: Absolutely loved this hotel! The room was perfectly equipped, the beds were comfy and the outdoor bath a true delight. The walk up there can be difficult since it is quite steep and we had our baggage with us, but a taxi there didn't cost much. The staff was very kind, they even prepared a translation of the key points to Spanish, they really made us feel at home.
Negative: The room was a bit cold on arrival and since it's so big it took a while to warm up

Positive: We booked the apartment with own onsen which was super nice; highly recommended. You can buy some noodle cups in the entrance if you are to lazy to go to the next restaurant in the centre
Negative: The way to the train station is super steep, you can’t really do this with luggage (taxi for < 1000 yen is necessary). No elevator - you have to go in the second floor to the nicer apartments!

Positive: Enjoyed the exclusivity of the hotel and room as we booked the room with an attached open air private bath with onsen. We arrived late past 2300 when the last check-in timing was at 2100 but we were well attended to at the front desk. The bath is the highlight of the stay. The hot spring water is pumped up from the source and it is even scientifically tested for the water properties and potential health benefits. Unlike the typical shared indoors bath, the open air concept makes breathing easier and you have the whole tub to yourself. Note that it is only big enough for one person comfortably. You can have a view of the natural foliage while in the bath, and yet still hidden the public eye.
Negative: Limited food options at the immediate property. Closest will be a convenience store a few hundred metres away downhill. The slope uphill to the hotel can be very challenging for some people although it is only about 12-15mins walk from the train station.
