The dining and living area offer floor to ceiling windows so you won't miss a thing. EVERY room of this updated, quaint cottage offers lake views. Cottage is built uniquely into the dune's edge overlooking Macatawa Bay and is located within private Macatawa Park, a gated community.
2 parking spaces, both locate in private lot near park entrance, just a couple of minutes walk from cottage. Temporary loading/unloading parking is also available directly in front of the cottage.
King's Cottage is located on the peninsula between the beautiful white sandy shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Macatawa, and nearby historic Holland Harbor 'Big Red' lighthouse and channel.
This unique cottage setting is conveniently surrounded by additional amenities within a few short steps; private Lake Michigan beach-only 5 minute walk, a marina, tennis courts, yacht club, bike trails, rentals (boats, bikes, kayaks and more!).

Summary: I have been going to Macatawa my entire life so am very familiar with the area. When I saw this listing, I was ecstatic because the location and the view are incredible. However, the house is completely outdated, dirty, shag carpet, very old, worn furniture. The clothes dryer sounds like an airplane taking off. There is junk all over the outside deck. The bathroom shower is moldy and gross. It is a shame because I would stay here every year but I was very uncomfortable once I walked inside. The manager, Kathy was very nice and accommodating but nothing she can do about the inside.

Summary: Stunning view and community in a gated community. Great access to the beach and a wonderful place to walk in. However, the house needs improvement. The upstairs TV was impossible to use even after the property manager sent her daughter to try to figure it out. The ice maker was a solid block of ice and impossible to fix since the freezer door could not fully be opened. Many light fixtures had burnt out bulbs and no replacements were on hand. The second story deck was closed off due to storm damage and we were not informed of this prior to our visit. The home could use some love.

Summary: We enjoyed ourselves in Macatawa and were very happy with the accommodations at Kings Cottage. We were there for a sailing regatta and loved the view of the harbor and lake from the front window. All good.

Summary: We were first timers in this property after 9 years of staying elsewhere on Lake Michigan and Lake Mac. It just might have been the best! There’s so much activity to watch from the shaded (never hot) deck here, and it’s a short walk to the big lake when you want that friendly, inclusive scene. This cottage is clean, with plenty of fresh, unstained, moderately thick towels. The decks do gather spider webs and acorns every night, but this is an expected feature of cottage life. Kitchen amenities are plentiful, including a functioning ice maker and filtered water dispenser on the fridge. Bring your own blender and hand mixer if those are items you use. We found the grill very clean, and though sporting a few hot spots, working well. Kathy is an attentive property manager, and the owner is a great guy. Macatawa Park is a fantastic community with options to rent pontoons and kayaks within walking distance and tennis drills open to non-members for a fee. The market is a 15-20 minute bike ride away.

Summary: The property was exactly as described. We went there in the Winter and it was very comfortable and warm inside. We enjoyed seeing the flocks of ducks stop by the lake. The beach is a very short walk away, too. We would rent it again.
