In a private mansion of 17th century, beautiful apartment of 65m2 with two bedrooms. (2nd floor without elevator).

Summary: We thought our stay was top-notch. The location was perfect-just a few blocks from the Carefour City Market, Les Halles market and food hall, and all the top sights in Avignon. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for cooking and dining in. The apartment is on a quiet residential street. It would be our first choice in accommodations if we visit Avignon again.

Summary: This little house was the perfect place to rest after long days exploring Avignon and the South of France. The beds were comfortable, the view was lovely and although the city is quite bustling, it was surprisingly quiet at night, allowing us to sleep with the windows open. If you are driving, do not even attempt to drive to the building as the roads are crazy narrow - the house host Frederick will give you excellent instructions on where to park and where to eat! We recommend this lovely little apartment.

Summary: This is not a proper review but rather things to consider before booking this apartment. We did not ask enough questions in advance to make an educated decision and want to save others from that. The apartment was lovely and centrally located, however we did not end up staying here due to the difficult parking situation in the area, which we did not discover until we arrived. We were told before booking the apartment that there was a parking lot "at the end of the street." We should have verified in advance what that actually meant. It turned out to be a paid parking garage a few blocks away on extremely narrow streets. If you are not using a rental car and just going on foot around Avignon city center, this is an ideal location. However, if you, like us, plan to use it as a base to explore the greater Avignon area by car, I would stay somewhere else. Also, for any Americans out there, please note that 2nd floor in Europe is what we call the 3rd floor. These are tall floors, lots of stairs, with no elevator. Not a big deal if you're fit but if you have bad knees and hips like we do, it becomes a bigger consideration. We were so taken by the pretty photos that we neglected to ask enough questions before booking.
