Summary: We spent a week and had a wonderful time. The barn has been tastefully and thoughtfully renovated with everything we needed. The location was suitably remote for us (three ferry rides from Vancouver, but they were an enjoyable part of the trip) and we loved being right next to the beach and a short walk from 'four corners', which had everything we needed. The only slight issue was that the island's water is volcanic so it smells a bit although it is perfectly safe. However, the owners provided a 5-gallon bottle of water more was available about a 10-minute walk away. (We used two bottles in a week.) We are not golfers, so we did not take advantage of the golf course next door although we could have. But it provided a nice grassy area with two ponds, which just added to the charm. The interior was spacious and we took advantage of the outdoor patio, as well as long walks on the beach (at high or low tide). You can walk to the next big beach and the owners also told us about several hikes elsewhere on the island that we took advantage of. In summary, the place is lovely, the owners are delightful and we definitely recommend this property to others. Thanks for giving us such a wonderful break!

Summary: Beautiful barn in a stunning setting. Fantastic beach, especially when it's low tide. Lots of wildlife. We had a truly relaxing vacation. The location of the barn was perfect, so close to shops, beaches, and hikes. We particularly recommend helliwell provincial park. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thanks Brenda and Peter for such a great stay.

Summary: Hornby was beautiful. The barn was comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location. Given we were there for work, we found the wifi and cell reception unsteady (which wasn't totally a bad thing!). There is also some sulphur smells in the water which was a bit strong at times. We would definitely stay again, and just keep the windows open and not plan to work as much. Owners were very helpful.

Summary: We had such a happy week staying here. The barn suite is clean, comfortable and lacks for nothing. Brenda and Peter were welcoming and helpful hosts. We launched our kayaks from the beach and explored Helliwell and the small islands nearby. Endless things to see: seals, eagles (bald and golden), starfish, sea urchins and even a deer swimming to one of the islands. We would love to return!

Summary: The Barn Suite was great for a relaxing getaway on Hornby Island. The photos accurately reflect the beautifully designed suite with high end finishings. The kitchen had all of the appliances needed (induction cook top, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker) and enough dishes for the two of us. Brenda was a very friendly and welcoming host! Little Tribune Bay Beach is just a few steps away and very quiet, and the main market area is a 5 minute walk away so it was very convenient. One thing to note is to bring your own drinking water. Brenda thankfully provided a jug of water but we purchased more at the local co-op grocery store for our 3 night stay. Not sure if this is the case for all of Hornby Island but the taps (and shower) water had a strong sulphur smell - not enough to be unusable but just wasn't expecting it and may be unpleasant for anyone with a sensitive nose. The place itself is very comfortable but just a warning if you don't like bugs. Because we arrived on a hot day, the windows were open before we arrived and since the suite is part of an open barn, we encountered a bunch of bugs (bees, flies, dragonfly, slugs) on arrival. Not bothersome or anything but definitely reminds you that you're in nature! Overall a great and relaxing weekend on Hornby Island!

Summary: We really enjoyed a quiet weekend on Hornby Island.The suite is very private. Inside is clean and neat. Very well equipped kitchen. Comfy loft bed (down stairs to toilet). Easy out for our small dog. Enjoyed the small golf course on this beautiful waterfront property. Hosts were welcoming. Wonderful get away for our anniversary.

Summary: We rented this tranquil barn suite for a week in August and had an absolutely amazing time. Our hosts were both very helpful and gracious and the suite was clean and very well kept. Little Tribune Bay was not to be missed, and if you play golf you’ll love Tuesdays and Thursdays where you can play! We’d definitely book here again!
