Summary: The cottage is very comfortable with views over a paddock. The location suited us as it was in a small, quiet village with walks from the door but also easy travelling distance to larger places like Chester. The hosts are very welcoming with helpful recommendations.

Summary: Three nights for a Christmas Break. Warm and welcoming on arrival with everything we could need for our stay. A nice field to exercise Dillon, our dog.An evening meal at a local, dog friendly, pub called The Hare, with a warm atmosphere and great choice of food. We spent Christmas Eve in Chester using the Park and Ride service. Great place. Christmas Day we cooked our roast chicken dinner and had a local walk. As we were blessed with lovely weather too we couldn’t have wished for a more enjoyable stay!

Summary: This was an exceptional property. We use self catering accommodation whenever we travel with our dog Bailey. This was one of the best quality inside and out. The owners have thought of everything.

Summary: We used the cottage as a base to stay for visits over the border to Wales and on to Chester on our last day. It was so cosy and comfortable to return to, very private and peaceful. Great selection of pubs nearby too with excellent food. Would highly recommend

Summary: Cosy little cottage in a great location. Gorgeous walks, close to Chester and Nantwich for mooching around and we had a fab meal in nearby dog friendly pub. Stayed two nights but thought an extra night would have been better as we didn’t even get a chance to more than a few local walks! Would definitely revisit but maybe when warmer to take advantage of the lovely outdoor eating area.

Summary: We booked months in advance to make sure that we were able to stay here over Christmas & New Years, and it made for a wonderful festive break. Friendly & welcoming, upon arrival we were greeted by Chris & Graham who had set-up the cute cosy cottage to ensure we had a pleasurable stay with them. A lot of attention to detail had been paid as EVERYTHING had been thought of - from tasteful Christmas decorations, to a welcome Christmas drink, to Continental breakfast items, even down to a dog crate that we had forgotten to bring. Every box had been ticked. Barton Bank's location allows for dog walks in the countryside; food and drink at a country pub only a five minute walk away; and spa facilities, castles & nationally protected properties only a short drive away. It's worth bearing in mind, that depending on your network phone reception is limited; however, there is very good wifi provided. Improvements: There are only two things we would change - the sink and the shower. The kitchen sink is very small, which is made even smaller by the short neck spout - just washing my hands meant water running over the kitchen counter - a swan neck swivel tap would solve this and would prevent any potential water damage. The shower is very low pressure making hair washing difficult, but a simple replacement for a modern unit would once again overcome this. Everything else was perfect and couldn't be faulted. We adored our stay here, and would definitely return. Thank you.
