Beautiful home away from home
Open space apartment located in in Mosfellsbaer.
It is a 2 bedroom apartment in a quiet and cozy neighbourhood in the outskirt of Reykjavík, it takes appr.15. min. to drive to the city centre.
Our apartment is appr. 90 square meters with additional 30 square meters private terrace with comfortable furniture. A beautiful and relaxing place in the summertime.
One bedroom with a new double bed 140 x 200 cm. The second bedroom has a new bed 120 x 200 cm and also a high bunk bed with a madress 90 x 200 cm.
A nice living room with flatscreen TV and a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer. Bathroom with a combination Tub/Shower. And a laundry room with a wash machine and dryer.
Linens and towels are provided
Free wireless wifi access.
Free privat parking.
The apartment is non-smoking only.
The neighborhood is family friendly. Playground in viewing distance. Only 5 min. walking distance to a outdoor and indoor swimming pool with hot tubs, sauna's and 3 water slides, there is also access to a gym. A good golf course in only 10 min. walking distance away by the sea with a beautiful view. The nature is beautiful, mountains, ocean, and many nice walking paths.
There are two small commercial centers only 1,5 km (0.60 miles) away (within a reasonable walking distance) - with all necessary service, i.e. supermarkets (best price), bakery, petrol station, pharmacy, library, restaurant, Dominos Pizza and more.
The bus station is 300 m (2 min) away and there you can take a direct bus downtown Reykjavik and to other places. To get to downtown Reykjavik, it takes only 25 min. with the bus or 15 min. with a private car. The same bus takes you to the flybusterminal Reykjavík Excursion in Reykjavik City.
Mosfellsbaer (Mosfellsbær) is situated close to the main ring road to the west/north and south/east of Iceland, and therefore the apartment is perfectly situation for great day trips in the country side - with no time wasted on traffic in the city center (and no traffic lights to get on the main ring road).
Within 10 min. drive in the same direction as Thingvellir, our Nationality Park, there is a nice horse rental and in the same area was the home of our Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1955, Halldór Laxness, his home Gljúfrasteinn is a museum .

Summary: This was the perfect accommodation for my family. Signy was very responsive to questions, and was kind to let us check-in early once she knew the house would be available. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Signy was out of town, so she had a friend greet us and show us the house. It's within walking distance of the local pool, neighborhood walking trails, and a short drive to the grocery store. It was a perfect base for day trips to the golden circle, Glymur waterfall hike, Reykjadalur hot springs hike, and Reykjavik. We had an amazing week. Iceland is spectacular!

Summary: This was our first stay on our Iceland adventure. It was so comfortable, nicely decorated, but not overdone. You can tell that this is Signy’s home, but she goes out of her way to make space for you. Communication could not have been clearer. My family, including two teenage boys, felt totally comfortable. Great location as well. Loved it! Thank you!!

Summary: My husband and I traveled to Iceland for an extended stay after a cruise in late July and were very, very pleasantly surprised by the welcoming and warm attitude of all the Icelandic people that we met to include our wonderful host, Signey. Signey provided us with a very neat, functional, and welcoming property. Signey provided us with everything that we needed for our stay. She took time to show us the property, the lighting system, electronics, and provided us with all the information we needed to stay at her home. And, of course, the chocolates she provided were a real hit with both of us. The outdoor area was large and tucked away to provide us with a haven to renew and relax. I love to cook and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and appliances to accomplish the task. My husband and I are both physically active. so we both really appreciated the close proximity of the walking path literally right outside of the front door. We loved our stay so much, we are looking forward to returning some day.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay here, the location was great for us. We traveled with 2 kids who loved being able to walk to the pool/hot springs and local school playground. It was also a great location for day trips around Iceland. It was very clean and well kept and the owner was very helpful and responsive.

Summary: We stayed 10 days (7th-17th august 2013) and came back happy. The house is clean, quiet, comfortable, and functional. Signy, the owner is very attentive. I corresponded with her via sms or e-mails and she was every time very caring. The apartment is near supermarkets and it is well located geographically for visits. I recommend this property. Thank you so much..... our holidays was fabulous !

Summary: * Great Location, walking distance to one of the best swimming pool and spa (lagafelslaug) in Iceland. Great for kids! * The apartment was very clean and warm.(geothermal heating) * Very family friendly, we found it very easy with 2 years old, there were baby cot and toys) * Great kitchen facilities and beds very comfy(Tempur mattress) and great enclosed deck. *Overall highly recommended apartment, specially for those with young kids.

Summary: This apartment was equipped with everything you might need for an enjoyable stay. The décor is modern with an emphasis on clean lines, natural wood, and leather. The large bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. The outside terrace is lovely and private. The apartment is very clean and also quiet. There is a well-equipped laundry room with a washer and dryer. The town of Mosfellsbaer, which is about a 15 minute drive north of Reykjavik, has specialty shops (bakery, fishmonger) and a Kr?nan supermarket so most things you might need are locally available. There are a number of beautiful hiking trails in the nearby hills or you can visit the estuaries bordering the town. This is an ideal place to relax in comfort. We enjoyed our stay very much.
