Home has been completely remodeled recently. Spacious bedrooms with great views of lake. Large dining room to accommodate bigger families or multiple families. Home has a huge deck facing the lake, great fun to gather with friends and watch the boats go by. This is an ideal location for visitors to Colon, walking distance to two of Colon's magic shops and any of the downtown restaurants. Located adjacent to the boat launch and park, you can bring your own boat and keep your trailer parked close by.
Colon is the Magic Capitol of the World, located 2 hours from Chicago and Detroit, and easy to get to from the Indiana Toll Road and I-94. Colon offers the charm of a small community with plenty to offer in recreation. Colon is located is St. Joseph County, the County is well known for it's lakes and waterways and first class public parks offering mountain biking trails, disc golf and lots of opportunities to enjoy the woods and water. Summary: Communication was great and easy, and we really enjoyed Tim’s home on this quiet, relaxing lake with pontoon boats and locals- it is not a crowded area. We were there on a holiday weekend and it was still peaceful. We used the kayak and two paddle boats which take a little effort to pull to the water but we enjoyed them! (Take the life jackets with you! -we got stopped by the water sheriff and had to go back bc they are required on all boats- 3 jackets were available) The house is by the public boat launch so it was fun watching the boats and jet skies come in and out. Great yard for sitting by the water or fire pit or your pup. We floated on the raft but I would not say it’s a swimming lake for small kids. It drops pretty deep and there isn’t a private beach area at the house, but that’s not a deterrent for us. The house is very comfortable and spacious. We had 7 adults and did have to use the bunk beds, which are not ideal for adults but would be fine for kids😊 Would definitely stay again and so glad we were able to get for Labor Day weekend. The only suggestion I would provide is maybe a bed topper for the full size bed downstairs. My parents found it pretty uncomfortable/too firm, and we couldn’t offer the comfy big king upstairs due to the steps. Thanks Tim!

Summary: Fun on the lake for all! Paddle boat and kayaks made the stay! Walking distance to all the restaurants too. Most importantly a great host. Fast communication much appreciated

Summary: This was the perfect place for me at a time when I needed a mixture of solitude and lots of space for a large family gathering one morning. A comfortable and welcoming space, and the host was very responsive to a question about the thermostat. The fall color was incredible on the lake!
