The Gathering House is a beautiful newly updated 5 bedroom/ 2 Bath house with all the finishes you would expect in a custom home. Located with in a 1/2 mile of downtown beautiful Grand Marais the Gathering House is with in walking distance of restaurants and several public beaches.
Another feature that makes The Gathering House unique is that there is a small named waterfall (called Chipmunk Falls) that is located on the side of the property right next to the house. There is also partial views from the 2nd and 3rd floors of beautiful West Bay and Lake Superior. The Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Master Bedroom, another Bedroom and a full Bathroom are located on the main floor of the house.
The Kitchen is all new, with new kitchen cabinets, quarts counter tops and new appliances. The Dining Room has a large harvest table and the Living Room has a 55" flat screen TV. The master bedroom has a king size bed. The second floor of the house has 2 bedrooms with Queen Beds, a bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds, a large bathroom with a dual sinks and marble counter tops, and the laundry room.
The 3rd floor has a living room with a sectional couch that makes into a sleeper sofa and has great views.

Summary: The house was great. It had all the amenities needed. The driveway was big enough for a trailer. The only thing that would have made it better would be a second shower. The bathroom on the 1st floor only has a tub.

Summary: The home is clean, warm, and a nice place to vacation. Nothing that I say should deter you from choosing this home, but instead it should prepare you for what to expect when you arrive. We rented the home for a week in Feb for a snowmobile trip for 7 people. While the driveway is large enough for trucks and trailers, it is quite steep and during our visit it was very icy. Since there is no flat area, we were unable to unhook the trucks from the trailers. The trail is a couple miles away and the state plows the berms daily. The house has only 7 coat hooks and one bench, so there is no where to hang your riding gear to dry out. The entry area is large, but needs better use of the wall areas. The bedrooms are small with oversize beds in them. There is no room for dressers, and most bedrooms don't even have closets, so there is no where to unpack. Add in the snowmobile gear and there was no room to even move. When you tell them how many people are visiting, they appear to adjust the quantity of towels and wash cloths. 7 people got 7 towels and 7 wash cloths. We did not enjoy needing to do laundry every night just to have a clean wash cloth. The toilet paper is the cheapest possible which leaves a lot to be desired getting the job done, so bring your own. There are no tissues in the house, so bring your own. The only bathroom on the first floor does not have a fan, so bring some air freshener. The floors creak and pop way more than normal, especially in the 1st floor king bedroom.

Summary: Great location to trails and restaurants. Only downside is there is only 1 gas station in the town. Waiting in line for gas can take up to an hour. House is awesome space for large groups. Great open floor plan. Could use another couch or chairs in living room to accommodate more people. Would definitely stay here again. Very clean and had all the things you need for your stay. Tv in each bedroom and awesome 3rd level hang out area if traveling with teens ..

Summary: Great property near trails and gas. The only downside is one shower so if you have a large group, you have to plan accordingly. We'd stay here again!!

Summary: the stay was very nice. there were flies and little gnats in the upstairs bathroom though. And the roku remote in the main tv room is no where to be found. I have checked all the tvs to see if it was in a different room and it isn't.

Summary: We did a mini extended family Jeep trip and had a great time. Everyone loved the house. It’s a very open floor plan with five bedrooms that provides some privacy. Large kitchen table which we all could sit at for a meal together. There is a nice back deck with furniture which was great to stargaze from. Loved this rental!!

Summary: We loved the proximity to Grand Marais and Sable Falls. The waterfall on the property was a big bonus. I really appreciated that the kitchen was well equipped for cooking, I’ve found many rental kitchens lacking basic tools and pots/pans, but I was able to make meals easily in this one.
