An original stone barn, which has been extended and modernised into a spacious picturesque retreat. Situated on a Devon working farm it offers excellent accommodation within the landscaped gardens and lawns.
The Garden Cottage offers you an airy vaulted double bed room unit with the addition of a sofa bed for the extra person.
There is a fully equipped modern kitchen and shower room.
The modern light living area overlooks the lawn, gardens and the well-stocked Carp, Trench and Bream pound. You are welcome to bring your rods along and enjoy the plentiful secluded fishing overlooking Ugborough Beacon.
Located just outside the village of Ugborough it has three excellent eating establishments within a short drive. The Ship Inn, Ugborough, The Anchor, Ugborough and the Turtly Corn Mill, South Brent.
The South Hams offers many superb tourist attractions and the Sheperds Cottage being situated on the edge of Dartmoor has excellent access to the A38 which allows you to explore the stunning south hams and beyond.
Within a 20 minute drive you can be exploring the historic maritime city of Plymouth, Bigbury beach with Brugh Island made famous by the Agatha Christie Novels, Dartmoor or walking the beautiful cliff paths of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo.
Closer to home there is the River Erme and Mothecombe beach well known for productions – like ‘Sense and Sensibility’ and ‘Hornblower’ which have been filmed there.
The delightful little Georgian town of Modbury, with its specialist and antique shops and splendid inns, is under 5 miles, whilst nearby is Ivybridge, known as the southern gateway to Dartmoor, offers excellent sports facilities, an indoor pool and a renowned garden centre.

Summary: I took a break in February, just my dog,and myselfwe. The bungalow was absolutely spotless, The location,was perfect for us,with the lounge,overlooking a lovely garden,with a little stream,with a solid stone little bridge across to the large pond/lake,which was completely fenced off,so Malakai could run free,while i fed the Carp,and enjoyed the wildlife and views acrossacross open fields the

Summary: Lovely little place with everything you could ever need. Handily located for the coast, Dartmoor and Plymouth. Ugborough is a lovely village with two great pubs, we ate in The Anchor and it was delicious with super pints of Jail Ale (if that's your thing!).

Summary: We had a perfect stay in a cosy holiday house on a sheepfarm. Enough facilities, friendly owners, beuatiful gardens, excellent area: natur, historic buildings and villages, a pond to fish, local groceries, etc, etc.

Summary: Absolutely peaceful and tranquil break. Hosts very friendly. Cottage extremely clean, bed very comfortable. The view from the living room was fantastic. Sitting by the fishing pond at the end off the day watching the fish and listening to the little lambs bleating was just so peaceful. The only downside which was only a slight inconvenience is the cottage doesn't have an enclosed garden. Not so much off an issue for us as our girl is quite obedient but we did have a moment on the last morning when she saw some girls walking away from the main house and ran after them. She came straight back when whistled but I can see issues if your dog is a little more mischievous.
