Welcome to Harborside Cottage!
Harborside Cottage overlooks the working harbor and is within 2.5 miles of 4 restaurants, 2 gas station/convenience stores, the Swan’s Island and Frenchboro Ferry terminal, Island Explorer bus pickup and drop-off, Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor Light House and so much more. Plus, only 17 miles to Bar Harbor!
Whether you are visiting for shopping, biking, hiking, kayaking, exploring, sightseeing, the rich history of our island or pure relaxation, Harborside puts you in a great place to access them all. There are numerous places to rent bikes, kayaks and canoes as well as multiple boat excursions and tours to choose from. Acadia National Park covers half the island and is home to many famous attractions. Cadillac is the tallest mountain on the eastern seaboard and a great place to see the sunrise. Thunder Hole is very impressive to visit at high tide, while Sand Beach is a beautiful destination to relax or hike Great Head. Stop by Jordan Pond House for tea and Popovers while overlooking the parks deepest lake at 150 feet, a tradition since 1893. There are too many destinations in Acadia to list, you will have to explore them all for yourself.
This ranch style with a wraparound porch has a walk out basement that is steps from its own working wharf. Inside this home that sleeps 8, you will find a full Kitchen equipped with everything you need no matter what meal, snack or drink you are preparing! The dining room holds an over sized, handmade table, giving way to views of the peaceful harbor. This is a great place to unwind from your day of exploring while witnessing the most spectacular sunsets. Down the hall you will find the first-floor bathroom with shower. The Crow’s Nest den has a flat screen tv and a twin daybed, with matching pop up trundle. These can be used as two twin beds or combined with bridging mattress pad to form a king size bed, for extra sleeping. The den also has its own ½ bath. The mate’s quarters on the first floor overlooks the harbor and has a cozy queen size bed. Downstairs to your left is the living room with a flat screen tv, couches and a double futon, as well as a dry bar with a second coffee maker and mini fridge. Here is where the sliding glass doors open to the backyard and down to your own beach and the tidal wharf. At the back of the living room a full bath and laundry room. To the right of the living room is the Captain’s Quarters with windows looking down to the beach and a firm, but comfy king size bed.
Upon your arrival you will find a tour basket with information from our local business’s, menu’s, maps and miscellaneous info about the cottage. The cottage has wifi, smart tv’s with apps and local channels. The last test of our internet speed came back with Download: 219.1 mbps, upload: 9.23mbps and Latency: 60ms. Summary: Harborside Cottage was amazing! We had to change plans for our honeymoon on short notice and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Not only was the property available on short notice but it was spacious, clean, stylish, and very homey with a great waterfront view. It felt like our home away from home. Elean was an awesome host with great communication leading up to and throughout our stay. I highly recommend staying at Harborside Cottage if you’re planning a trip to Maine!

Summary: Elean was gracious and attentive to our needs for our entire stay. Cottage is out of the way enough to be quiet and cozy, but at the same time close enough to all the area attractions to be a great launch point. Cottage is very comfortable and well maintained. Summary: This house sits on a fantastic location. It is far enough away from the tourist “hub-bub”, but close enough to touch everything Acadia Ntl Park and Mt Desert Island have to offer. There are peaceful sunsets, a view of the lobster boats and tide activity, and access to great food. The house is a very comfortable place to land for a week! The Host provided great info for the stay as well as things to do. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Summary: Clean and spacious property with everything we needed to have a great week for our family of 5. Reasonable driving distance to everything. Enjoyed being able to go out at low tide and explore. Hosts were welcoming and communicative. They made sure the cottage had everything you needed. Would definitely recommend

Summary: Great location if wanting to take advantage of the quiet side of the Island. Property was exactly as described and very well appointed… it had all the pots/pans/utensils needed. Sunsets were simply amazing. The harbor view was spectacular. great to have the outdoor space to simply enjoy 'being there'. Great communication with owner. A+ all around!

Summary: We could not have enjoyed our stay anymore than we did! The house was just as described, the views were beautiful! The home had everything we needed for our stay plus some. The owner was very responsive, and the location was perfect for visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor, and then returning to the peaceful side of the island.

Summary: Have spent many fall seasons at Acadia, but this accommodation was one of the best. The view was unparalleled, and when you’re stuck for a week due to Covid, the view is even more important! Our hosts were very responsive anytime we had a question. We had a power outage while on the island, and before we woke up, we had the necessary items to get us through that power outage. The cottage is outfitted very well, the kitchen has anything and everything you can need. Plenty of bathrooms, beautiful deck, and the surroundings were lovely. We will stay there again on our next visit! Thank you, Elean and family.

Summary: The property was as advertised. It is in a wonderful location, close to Acadia and Bar Harbor but far enough that it's fairly quiet. The house itself was in immaculate condition. It was nice to sit outside and look at fishing boats or the deer that wandered into the yard each night and morning.
