2 cozy bedroom rustic home -garage- wooded back with deck, wood burning fireplace, sauna/shower in walk out basement , 1 full bath 2 half bath, full kitchen/dining area, card table for puzzles, kitchen table nice for cards and games, 2 double beds in master bedroom, 1 double bed in 2nd bedroom, big closets, ideal for weekend get away, recreation for cross country skiing / snowmobiles- hunting - ice fishing/ open water fishing / brook trout fishing -water sports with marina and beach close by. Recreational enthusiasts of photography along with bird watching year round.
Small groups and families welcome along with couples or single quiet retreat. Tv - dvds- books , no cable Etc. Otherwise, Relax and Unplug.
Walk or ride bike, snowmobile to store, historic Thunderbay Inn restaurant , historic Lumberjack, Hungry hollow cafe (breakfast) all have great food. Visit the historical Big Bay lighthouse for a tour also! Lots of trails for hiking, biking and snowmobiling. Summers are the best, 3 Min from beach, with live music in the park on Saturday evenings.
February is the big ice fishing derby on Lake Independence! Usually held the 2nd weekend- with ending catch award ceremony at historic Thunder Bay Inn.

Summary: Property was perfect for snowmobiling from. Less than 1/4 mile to trail and streets are plowed with a ledge of snow so riding on roadway is kept to a minimum. The trails from Big Bay to L'Anse were smooth windy with breathtaking views.There was room for two trucks an one 4 place snowmobile trailer and a 2 place trailer. House was nice and neat. Sauna was amazing after a long day of riding. Temps were warm so we didnt use the beautiful fireplace. Drove out to the lighthouse and then the beach. Also went to the look out and yellow dog falls. We will definitely stay again.

Summary: Great up north house in the town of Big Bay. The fireplace and sauna were great to have after snowmobiling.

Summary: The property was great! Clean, fireplace was amazing, well stocked with everything you need. Felt like home🥰. Amy was amazing and the town was welcoming with a deep history. Snowmobile trail just down the street , Cram’s store was right there with fuel and the lumber Jack Tavern had great pizza! Thank you Amy👍

Summary: Amy was so welcoming and her house was filled with local history, beautiful photography and hanade art pieces, as well as many touches that made you feel welcome and at home. The house was filled with many "extras"- wood and materials for fires, bikes, games and puzzles, tons of movies and books, and simple pantry and fridge staples. Having the air hockey table was an added bonus and fun surprise. We wished we had time to try the sauna because it looked so inviting. The house is in a great location with a beautiful wooded backyard and wonderful back deck. We loved the hummingbird that came to visit often! We would absolutely love to stay here again.

Summary: This was a great place to stay and see Marquette area. Only regrets was we did not take advantage of the two bikes to explore the light house and beach. Do to time and a planned agenda, we drove to those areas but the bikes would have been better. Enjoyed the deck in the early mornings with a cup of fresh brew. It was also walking distance to the inn and lumberjack tavern.if you wanted a drink or a bite to eat. I would recommend this place and stay there again Dean
