The Blue Heron Guest House is our 2 bdr/1 ba 710 sq ft modern designed guest house that sits on our 4.5 acres lake front property with 650 feet o water frontage. Ideal for a family of up to 4 or 2 couples for a retreat. This guesthouse is close to everything, 30-35 minutes to Ft Benning/Columbus, pine MTN/Calloway Gardens & Auburn/Opelika. Private Hot tub, fire pit and hammock. Free access to the shared boat ramp, multiple piers, beach area, chairs/loungers, kayaks, fishing gear and more. You just need your Alabama or Georgia fishing license. Only the specific guests noted in the booking are allowed on the premises without prior approval from the host.
We have lovingly named our 4.5 acres the Herons Nest. On the property we have the main house on the water in which we live. Additionally, there is a guesthouse (Blue Heron) and cottage (Green Heron) that are both Short-term Rentals that can be rented separately or together but are spaced out enough that you have your own space and privacy. Both places have their own individual fire pits, hammocks, patios and share the pier, beach, and boat ramp located in front of the main house. The boathouse on the water is for the owner's use only, please don't go on the boathouse.
Additionally, the hosts live on the property and respects our guest's privacy, but we will be sure to say hi if we see you out and about in the shared areas.

You also accept all risk from engaging in these activities while on drugs, alcohol, pregnant or using medication. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against owner for accidents or claims arising from any of these activities but not limited to those listed above. Summary: We were looking for a little weekend getaway from middle Georgia and this was perfect. Right on the lake, the view is incredible. The cabin is semi-private in that there are other cabins and the owners home on property, but no one disturbed us. If you like fishing and kayaking, this is your place. Also, there is a boat ramp on property. Howard was a great host and communicative.

Summary: Very nice place with all thing thought out in advance. Very communicative about what they had to offer and if we needed anything. Best place we have ever stayed at. We enjoyed the neighbors we met walking. We encountered nice folks at the grocery store and restaurant. Owners truly cares about us having a good and relaxing time.

Summary: Spend a girls weekend at the lake at this beautiful property! It was the perfect size for 4. Everything was extremely clean, modern decor, all linens were provided and in excellent shape, we had everything we needed and more! The hosts checked on us and brought extra loungers and a floating dock. They were incredibly hospitable! Highly recommend this bungalow!

Summary: This property is as advertised - and then some. The property itself was so intentionally prepared for a welcoming stay, it is hard to put into words. Clean, comfortable and well thought out. The owners of this property, and the adjacent Green Heron, are exactly what you would want in a host/owner. They are so gracious with the grounds that surround the cabin, you feel like you have an entire peninsula on Lake Harding to yourself. We have already started making plans to return in the summer and experience more of what this beautiful corner of Alabama has to offer. 6 out of 5 Stars!!!

Summary: Look no further! Honestly, this is the best rental we have stayed at! Howard and Anjel are very responsive and considerate hosts. The house is very nice, and extremely clean. Cleanliness is a very important factor for me and the Blue Heron was exceptional. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook a nice meal. There is a grill, a fire pit stocked with wood for us to use. Extra bedding and towels. They really thought of everything you might want during your stay. We used the kayaks and paddle board. We sat outside at night and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, and we weren’t bothered by mosquitoes or any bugs because they do a great job with upkeep of the grounds and landscaping. Howard even took us to Two Tree church in his boat and then gave us a boat tour of the lake! So nice! We will absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone. You will not be disappointed.
