Summary: I'm going to make this short and sweet. Staying here with Juan and Tiana was the highlight of our trip to Portugal and the best home rental experience we have ever had. As retired innkeepers, we know and appreciate gracious hosting and they are the best! In addition, the house was gorgeous, the property was beautiful and the area is wonderfully remote. This place has it all.

Summary: We spent a wonderful week in the Casa Bougainvillea nearby Sao Teotonio in octobre 2019: swimming in the well temperatured pool, having breakfast on the terrace while the kids had their own personal playground in the patio, reading, playing table tennis and football kicker. Inside the house we had a lot of space to feel comfortable: three sleeping rooms, two bathrooms with showers, a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living room. The surrounding is calm and peaceful: When you step out in the morning you hear nothing but some birds singing or bees humming, it was totally relaxing. You can take a two-hours-walk to the old wind mill you see from the terrace, and you won't meet anyone despite some dogs and chicks running around. At the same time you can go by car in 20 minutes to the centre of Sao Teotonio for shopping, for example in the market halls where you can buy fresh fisch, meat and vegetables for grilling in the outdoor kitchen. Our host Juan made an extra fire so that we could bake our own pizza in the oven. He also recommanded the most beautiful beaches and best restaurants in the area. With his kind and helpfully way Juan was the person who made our holidays perfect. At the end we cancelled our planned stopover in Lissabon and stayed three more days in our lovely hideaway...

Summary: Great and peaceful stay at Juan and Taina´s place. Went there with my wife looking for a great place to relax from the city. We definetely found it. We also went a bit south to have a surf day in a great beach. We will definetely be back on that place as soon as we can! The hosts gave us loads of tips about the place and the things to do around. Wery welcoming people. Thanks guys!;)

Summary: We stayed for 2 weeks in August with our 2 pre-teens and had a fun and relaxing holiday. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the local beaches and restaurants and shared plenty of hints and tips . It helped us to get going, in an area we didn't know at all and we enjoyed discovering the Alentejo region. The house is spacious and there are plenty of areas to relax, swim and play. The kitchen layout is unusual but it has everything you need. There is also an outdoor patio with barbecue and stone oven to make pizzas. We really recommend the property and would love to visit again.

Summary: The house was even better than expected. It is very spacious, and the outdoor areas are amazing. We booked the bigger property as the conservatory area looked lovely. It extended the days so we could sit outside early and late. The views down the valley are beautiful and there were so many birds singing. Nightingales and a cuckoo by the pool. Beautiful flowers in the garden. We had very hot weather and the pool reached 29C so we spent a lot of time down there. The shady area near the pool never got too hot. There were lovely walks from the house, which we got up early for. We also explored the stunning cliffs and beaches, and drove up into the hills to visit the little villages. Juan and Taína are great hosts. We would love to return one day.
