Boca Chica is a stunning conversion of a former coach house offering outstanding and individual accommodation for four guests. This child and dog friendly property is cleverly furnished using recycled materials and furnishings as a nod to its former heritage. The cottage comes complete with an enclosed courtyard, garden with steps to the beach and a wood burner … a holiday home for all seasons!
Blyth is an historic bustling port with a pier and famous lighthouse. Recorded settlement in Blyth dates back to the 12th century. Don’t miss the popular market - Wednesday Friday and Saturday, well worth a stroll around to stock up on essentials. For a great day out head to Seaton Delaval Hall, a fascinating English Baroque country house, just to the south of Blyth.

Entertainment : Smart TV with Freeview x 2TV, WiFi. Selection of board games, books, dvd’s and CD’s.
For families: Cot and a highchair can be provided free of charge on request. (Sorry cot linen and towels)
Parking: for one car.
Outside : secure enclosed courtyard. Nautically themed garden. Access to the beach can be gained via a path 20m to the north of the cottage or 100m south of the cottage.
General: WiFi in the man living area. Bedding, bed linen and towels. Full central heating, started pack of logs and kindling for the wood burner - more can be purchased from the owners on site. Storage for leisure gear can be pre-arranged ie. Cycles, kayaks, golf clubs etc. Welcome pack with toiletries. Pets : welcome, max. 3 well behaved dogs @ £25.00 per dog per week or part thereof. Dog bowl. Dog crate and dog duvet can be hired at an additional charge. Pets should not be left unattended in the property.
Please note: The property has access to the beach (20m) so children and dogs should be well supervised whilst in the garden and beach areas.
Whilst this is predominantly a single storey property, with all main rooms at ground floor level, there are some steps into and inside the property where changing levels ie one step from the main hall to the shower room and one of the bedrooms.

Summary: A wonderful lovely place to stay, with generous food items left by the hosts, which was handy as I didn't have time to shop. Immaculate, warm and welcoming with amazing beach walks literally on the doorstep. Very appreciative of the hosts being flexible for my choice of short stay nights, coordinating with my daughter's new job. Very difficult to leave such a beautiful property. I relaxed and slept well for the first time in ages in a comfy bed with lovely crisp linen. Warm and cosy against the Northumberland winds. Amazing place.

Summary: The pictures in the brochure (which sold it to us) actually don't do it justice. We found this a lovely cosy (but not small feeling) cottage - it was well heated, which was great in November - and we really enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. The standard of everything was exceptionally high - the kitchen had everything in it you could possibly need and the bathroom had a great shower. There were board games and DVDs in the little loft space for the kids. We loved the window seat in the master bedroom too with views over the river. The location was great for us to visit relatives who live nearby. We did use the stairs to go to the beach (although the sloping path around the side of the cottage might have been an easier approach). The beach is beautiful - very clean with white sand and practically empty. We found several starfish one morning on the sands. We hope to visit again in spring or summer and take advantage of the kayak and barbecue.

Summary: We stayed at Boca Chica 2nd week in October. Very comfortable cottage in a in a quiet road and a good location for exploring Northumberland. The beds were very comfortable and the facilities were very good. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but wasn't a major problem. The garden area was great for the dog, although it could do with a bit of a tidy up. I know its towards the end of the season but the picture in the brochure looks fantastic and the reality is quite a few weeds and overgrown bushes etc. Access to the beach is best from the road rather than the steps at the rear of the garden which are very steep and slippery. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Summary: Spent a blissful two weeks in this beautifully appointed cottage in prime position with the most beautiful view. Easy access to perfect, quiet beach and yet the secure garden and the courtyard ensures peace of mind for those of us with dogs. Clare provided all we could ask for without being at all intrusive. Already looking to book next year. Highly recommended!

Summary: A wonderful cottage, that is ideal for a family of 4. Access to the beach is a god-send with the children wanting to go down rain or shine. Wonderfully located with plenty to see in the surrounding areas, with many castles within quick access. Definitely good value for money for the 2 weeks (an upgrade from the previous year of 1 week). Would recommend it to any family and will be looking to come again.

Summary: Each morning taking my coffee to the bottom of the garden and sitting watch the tides in and out of the estuary - what could be better. Okay, it is rather isolated but that suited us. And the welcome pack awaiting us was really good and took care of immediate needs. Our host, Claire, was very welcoming and attentive, yet stayed out of our way. Boca Chica is s marvellous example of renovation and a great place to stay. As far as we were are concerned, a definite 5 *

Summary: Beautiful part of the world endless sandy beaches, dog paradise. Quite weather dependant and local amenities are a car drive away. However plenty of interesting places to visit and must say nearly everywhere is dog friendly . Disappointed at the heating in the cottage with it being open plan was difficult to keep warm. Would have benefited from more curtains, lacked a little privacy in the lounge.
