The house is 80+years old but is brick and tile, well insulated and has a big heat pump, keeps it warm in cooler weather, we are in process of a rebuild so outside does need work. Within 3 ks, 2 restaurants 2 local shops ,hotel with bistro, and award winning fishand chip shop ,Now card fuel 3ks no supermarket on Peninsula.within 15 ks beautifull white sandy beaches ,NZ Sealions ,yellow eyed penguins,little blue penguins and the world famous royal albatross. Also the greater Dunedin area has a raft of other attractions ,taieri gorge railway ,Chinese garden ,monarch cruises on Otago harbour ,and several wildlife tours to name a few ,and Broadbay is the perfect place to base your self ,only 20 mins from Dunedin city ,but far enough away to be a quiet and peaceful place to relax.

Summary: Every time we go to Dunedin we stay in Neils and Shukuru place. It is clean, spacious, comfortable, has everything you need, close to city center and most important pet and kids friendly. I don't think one could ask for anything more. Thanks!

Summary: The photo's while not telling lies don't really tell the truth either. The property while clean is very old, took a while to find the toilet which was literally behind what looked like a cupboard door. Grounds need a tidy up. In hindsight probably a bit far out of town for what we were doing. We were pleased to be able to get in before the allocated 4.00p.m which we feel is late in the day.

Summary: Was not to impressed with our stay did not use shower no shower curtain and did not look clean. Went to put rubbish in bin was only a recycle bin full of stinky rubbish. Wanted to do a load of washing no pegs and was not game to use washing line. Only thing going for the place was the view we were not impressed. Plus no smoke detectors that we could see.

Summary: This property is not as it looks in the listing. The house and grounds are very shabby and poorly maintained and the amenities are marginal--too many deficiencies to even list. The very busy main road runs right out front. We found bugs in the dishes and the hot water supply was intermittent. Though we had booked for 5 nights, we left after just two because it was so uncomfortable and run-down. To his credit, the owner spontaneously refunded us 3 of our missing 4 nights, which we appreciated. This property needs major work and should not be listed on VRBO as it is.

Summary: Great location, with good views across the harbour. Clean with comfortable beds. The kitchen/dinning facilities would be tight if there were 5 guests. The skirting-boards and outside paintwork need attention though this does not detract from the functionality of the accommodation. There is a heat pump in the corridor which warms the house {though not the kitchen] . When the bedroom doors are closed these rooms are cold, but there is ample bedding.
