Lakefront Cabin for rent, rest and relaxation includes beautiful home on 6 acre lake - sleeps up to 16 in 5 bedrooms with 3 full bathrooms. Property features a private beach, boat dock with a paddleboat and a canoe, walking trails, and 50 acres of pasture and pine forest. Perfect for peace, quiet or hunting wildlife. This beautiful property has a private lake that is well stocked with fish blue gill, bass and crappie.
Guest are welcome to hike and fish use the canoe & paddle boat. Weather you are visiting the area to see one of the historical towns nearby or coming for a day at the Morrison Pheasant Hunting Club, Hilltop Meadow Hunt Club or Paul Brescia Hunting Club Mt. Carroll, IL. If hunting you may bring your own deer stand or use one of four stands already in place. Must abide by all hunting rules and regulations. Must have a current and valid state license. We are sure you will enjoy your time at the Lake Cabin.
This property is 1.5 hours from downtown Chicago, sits on 50 acres, overlooks a 6-acre lake, and is only accessible by a private drive. The buildings were completely remodeled in 2018.
Other amenities include a boat dock and fishing on the lake for small mouth bass, crappie and blue gill. A canoe and a paddleboat available to guest and you can cook your catch on the charcoal grill. There is also a two-mile long walking trail through the timber and pasture.
Please note that due to weather conditions lakes and ponds have seen an increase in algae bloom & duck weed. Because of this naturally occurring event the condition of the lake cannot be guaranteed.
The Lake Cabin is also available during hunting seasons.

Summary: Beautiful and peaceful place. Very well kept. Good hiking and small lake coasting in a canoe or paddle boat. As parents of five, we loved every minute of it, just to get away (without the kids).

Summary: We were thrilled to find the house was up to date and clean. There was a lot of space in the kitchen to cook and for us to play games after our meals in the dining room and living room. Host did a good job communicating what to bring (towels not provided). The lake is more swamp like with a strong smell. Downstairs could have been cleaned better and we pulled over 1 cup of hair clog out of the drain down there to get it to drain before they could shower (YUCK). The algae and weeds didn’t stop the students from swimming, canoeing and fishing though!

Summary: We loved it there. Just a few issues. The paddle boat was broke. The listing says there is a hot tub and fish cleaning station,there was not. But the kids loved swimming and going out on the canoe, as did the adults. Sitting on the patio as family while the sun went down just happened naturally. It's so peaceful. Thank you for letting us stay!!

Summary: This is our second time staying on the property. Last year we stayed at the house located across the pond. It’s a beautiful and secluded place. The owners are so nice and easy to contact. The only complaint we all had was the algae in the pond was really heavy this year so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy that but everything else was great.

Summary: It was a great stay. I would recommend taking better pictures of the place because the pictures you have doesnt do it justice. I would also suggest providing Toilet paper. Also, maybe an update to the bathroom in the basement would be nice!

Summary: We had a great wkd here celebrating my father in law’s 80th bday. There were 9 of us ages 14 and up and there was plenty of space and beds for all. Kitchen is huge and fully stocked to cook all your meals (minus the food of course!) We spent a lot of time on back covered patio and think there should be pics of this space as well as fire pit, and bathrooms on main level as there are all nice and updated. Basement bathroom not so much but it was ok. We had an unfortunate thing happen during our stay- water heater went out but the owners took care of it in a very timely manner on a Saturday and had it replaced so we had warm water by that evening. Overall it was a great house on nice piece of property overlooking a pond that comes with a paddle boat and canoe. We did lots of fishing, and spent most of our time outside. The gnats were pretty bad- but is a woody area so not much you can do. Nice relaxing wkd on a peaceful property. Would go back!

Summary: I’m not sure pictures do the place justice. Really cool property with a covered back deck great for get-togethers. The pond was a fantastic addition. The kitchen and living space was really nicely equipped and decorated. CHECK THE BEDS BEFORE GETTING IN. Basement beds had a large amount of mouse poop all over the pillows and blankets. I have pictures. I let the owner know and received a short response that they will fix the mice issue. Besides that, we had a fantastic time on the secluded property.
