Positive: Wow. My friend and I liked so many things about our stay at Camilla House. We loved that the host (Marilena) met us in the main square of Varenna and immediately gave us her car permit so we could enter the pedestrian zone of the City Center to access her private garage (for free!). She also showed us where the shops, cafes and restaurants in Varenna were. Then she accompanied us up to Camilla house with her car and gave us all the information about the apartment (including the parking space for the apartment...also free!). The apartment was super clean and comfortable and the views from Camilla House of the lake and the mountains through the big windows was amazing. The beds were super comfortable and we slept great. We only stayed for one night and went back into Varenna for dinner, but we saw that the kitchen had everything one could possibly want (including a dishwasher). The apartment is about a mile from the city center. The weather was great and I'm sure we could have walked back and forth on the path below the apartment, but since we had the garage, we drove back in for dinner. I think I would like to do that walk if I was able to stay for more days. Thank you, Marilena. Your personal service was great. Most places you rent these days are "self check-in" and you never meet the owner or have anyone to talk to if you need something. Having you nearby and available via WhatsApp was much appreciated. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Varenna is one the most wonderful places on earth. Thank you!

Positive: We like the fact that we get the entire house during our stay and we had a beautiful view of the lake. There were plenty of utensils for us to prepare our own meal. We appreciate that the hostess personally came to pick us up from the train station when we arrived to Varenna and dropped us back to the station at the end of our stay. Overall, she was quite accommodating to our needs.
Negative: The bed wasn't comfortable and it actually gave us some back pains. We underestimated how far the B&B is from the main town and ferry port. We easily walked more than 5km a day to get from our stay to the ferry port and back when we plan to visit the other islands surrounding Lake Como. Although the hostess was helpful, we feel that in some instances, she could communicate better. For example, rather than questioning us whether we actually did our research on how far her B&B is from the main town, a pleasant and simple welcoming message would be much better. It's as if she is prepared to "lecture" us if we answered incorrectly and we could tell she is a very straightforward communicator.

Positive: The best stay we could have had at lake Como. The host, Marilena really took our holiday to the next level. She is the sweetest lady who gave us all the tips on where to eat and drink in town and where else to go for fun. She was even driving us around in her car multiple times during the 3 days. The service she provided was just truly unbelievable. If anyone is thinking to stay anywhere in this area, definitely recommend to stay in Camilla House! Thank you Marilena!
