Positive: Casa Amazonas is a peaceful oasis in the Amazon rainforest. The entire team is outstanding. The facilities are sparkling clean and well maintained. The offerings I participated in were all incredible. The excursions were once in a lifetime. Piranha fishing at sunset is a must do! Best massage I’ve ever had! Wow!! He is truly truly gifted. The food was gourmet. I ate a lot of street food while I was in Lima and Cusco so it was wonderful having elevated dining experiences at each meal. I visited as a solo traveler at the end of 2 busy weeks in Peru to relax before heading home. I’d love to come back and make Casa Amazonas the focus of a group trip with a yoga retreat or a group of solo travelers and really take advantage of all that Casa Amazonas has to offer.
Summary: A relaxing and peaceful end to 2 weeks of solo traveling in Peru

Positive: The location is fantastic - in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the jungle, the richness of plants, flowers and serenity. The construction of the place is also very nice - built of wood, or bamboo, with no windows which gives the visitors a sense of connection to nature. And the plus is food - vegetarian, but not so simple - we had delicious creamy soups, vegetarian lasagne and desserts.
Negative: I have mixed feelings about the attractions offered by the place. On the first day we were supposed to have the bonfire with songs, dances, cocoa, shaman and some spiritual talks. Well, I noticed the "shaman" - a guy dressed plainly was watching some YouTube videos of bonfires, plus there was a group of people, who played 2-3 songs and were checking the lyrics on the internet. The "shaman" was saying some obvious things about nature being contaminated, mother Earth etc. I had the impression there were some random people who had no idea what they were doing. Plus, there was no cocoa, which was a shame because I paid 20 dollars per person and I have no idea what I got for this price. Another minus - if you want some meat-based dish, you pay 3 dollars more - but we weren't informed about this before staying. Only on the second day when I was trying to set up the menu for our dinner. And the biggest downside - a huge tarantula in one of the bathrooms. I know these things happen in tropical countries, but I guess there are ways to prevent it. I have mixed feelings about this place- in terms of surroundings it's marvellous but the policy and openness is something to improve.

Positive: Casa Amazonas was an amazing place that I stumbled upon. It was so peaceful, all of the facilities were immaculate, and the staff super attentive. The food they served was amazing and very healthy. We shared meals all together making it easy to meet and get to know other travelers. They also offered yoga classes three times a day and had other activities available for those on longer stays. I highly recommend this for a few days of respite after visiting Tambopata, I wish I had been able to stay for more time.

Positive: A safe and mesmerising haven - We stayed for 1 night whilst passing through Puerto Maldanado and it was like stepping away from the world for 24 hours. Me and my husband enjoyed a wonderful Shamonic yoga/Sound Bath and I had a full body massage which was exceptional. The rest of the time we relaxed, listening to the sound of the rainforest. The yoga studio was also open 24 hours for access so I was able to do a self practice in the AM. Dinner and breakfast were simply exceptional - Organic and nutritious vegetarian food (with the option to add meat or fish) which was some of the best we've eaten in Peru. Finally, our host was exceptional - A calming demeanour, very interesting and ensured our comfort the entire stay- we just wished we could stay another night!

Positive: The site is located deep enough into the jungle that you feel mostly immersed. However, it's close enough to the city to feel comfortable still if the jungle is intimidating. The meals were absolutely delicious, made with fresh local ingredients either grown in their garden or purchased from local markets. The trips are more affordable through the resort than if booked off-site. They handle the taxi services and the full booking for you so its quite convenient. Tom, the site host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. He truly is passionate about his role with Casa Amazonas, and I don't doubt he'll continue to help build memories with many guests in the future.
Negative: On weekends, you can hear some of the music from the city, which impacts the jungle experience a little bit. We also weren't fully aware of how the food situation worked until we arrived on site. The meals were delicious but can add up quickly in cost, and there are no options to cook anything yourself. So, plan accordingly.

Positive: From the first night, we felt how Casa Amazonas is designed for rest and well-being. Sleep is deep and truly restorative. The rooms are thoughtfully created for total disconnection—no noise, no magnetic waves, just nature and a calming atmosphere. Everything has been carefully planned to make you feel good. We were warmly welcomed by Tom, who ensures every detail is perfect. The energy of this place is unique. You immediately feel at peace and connected to the essentials. The Yoga Sala is a beautiful space, perfect for meditation and morning yoga practice. The food is excellent—healthy and full of flavor. We originally booked for one night, but the experience was so wonderful that we decided to stay for another. Casa Amazonas is a must-visit. A timeless retreat that rejuvenates and transforms. Highly recommended.

Positive: It was a beautiful retreat and we were very well looked after. The property is gorgeous and it’s so special to be immersed in nature to hear the birds and monkeys and watch the butterflies. The yoga chala was a wonderful space to soak in.
Negative: The bathrooms although private are down the hall which comes with a probably irrational fear of being eaten by a jaguar at night.

Positive: Casa Amazonas is a truly stunning place, surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest. The restorative shamanic yoga session with Jenny, from a local tribe, was an unforgettable experience—deeply relaxing and filled with valuable insights about the jungle’s traditions. It was especially magical on a rainy day. Vanessa was incredibly kind and helpful, sharing great advice about Peru and the best places to visit.
Negative: A bit too remote. Having more snacks to buy would be more helpful for travellers
