Positive: The hotel is a delight, set among surrounding hills the views are stunning. It is along a lane through the forest giving it a quiet peaceful location to relax in. The property is old set across a range of buildings and decorated with an eclectic mix of period furniture and pictures etc. Very comfortable and clean. Our room and bathroom in the annex was huge. The staff were lovely. The food is great . Super breakfast. You must have dinner at least once, it’s a set meal same for all guests, but really top quality and presentation . Easy to get into Santiago and further afield.
Negative: I’m being picky now but despite there being a huge wardrobe in our room, 3/4 of this was locked leaving only a small set of shelves to put clothes on and no hanging. If the wardrobe is decoration only then a rail could be provided (there was room!!)

Positive: We highly recommend "Casa Grande de Bachao" if you are visiting Santiago. This is a beautiful country home with unique gardens, decorations and charm. We enjoyed our 3 night stay particularly the delicious and very creative dinners by chef and owner Javier. Great relaxation for reading and happy hour in the spacious living room and patio.
Negative: Everything was great.

Negative: I did not realize that the hotel was about 25 minutes from the center of Santiago. the restaurant at the hotel served an excellent breakfast but their dinner didn’t start until 930 which is too late for me.

Positive: This place is an absolute treasure! Located away from the city in the beautiful hills of Santiago. The property is gorgeous and is set in a restored monastery. It is quiet and it is lovely. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional! We would love to come back!
Negative: Travelers should know the property is approximately 30 minutes from the train/bus station so they need to plan accordingly.

Negative: I would describe it as a fading flower… such great potential both inside and out. It needs more care to restore it to its former life. For the most part, we felt like we were the only ones on the property. Workers on site were friendly and tried so hard to communicate. An evening meal might have been enjoyable, but 9:30 pm is just too late. An earlier dinner option might also draw in more people as well.
