San Diego House | Casa Mana- Amazing Surf, Beachfront, and a Great Deal!

2 Bedroom House in San Diego, Los Cardones

If you seek great waves, unspoiled beaches and a calming environment, then Casa Mana is the place for you! This surfer’s getaway is nestled amongst the trees just a 1 minute walk from the beach. It provides the perfect balance of being off the beaten path yet fitted with all the comforts of home.
Casa Mana is approximately 1000 square feet with a large outdoor lanai that houses the dining table and a few enticing hammocks. Follow the outdoor spiral staircase and you will be led to a rooftop oasis. This is the perfect spot to witness an amazing sunset or simply take in the sounds of the crashing waves and chirping birds.
Inside you will find locally hand-made furniture and cabinetry throughout. Casa Mana has two air- conditioned bedrooms (one with a King sized bed and the other with a Queen sized bed) that share a large Jack and Jill bathroom, and can sleep up to 7 people. There is a comfortable couch and Queen size air mattress to accommodate extra guests. There is an additional half bath accessed through the living area. The kitchen comes fully stocked (fridge, stove, coffee maker, blender, mixer, toaster…).
We have put a great deal of thought into making sure Casa Mana has all the extra amenities you might possibly need: Beach towels, an ice chest, iPod dock, boogie boards, poker chips, alarm clocks, 1st aid kit, games, flashlights, high quality sheets, and available wireless internet. We don’t want you to feel like you are in a typical bare rental; we’d rather you feel at home, and just a bit more relaxed!
Casa Mana is located about an hour away from Managua inside the community of Finca Del Mar. Ourselves and the surrounding community respect the natural resources of Nicaragua and we attempt to tread lightly. Whenever possible, the materials used to build Casa Mana were purchased locally. The wood pillars are reclaimed trees that were knocked down in storms. The cane used in the ceiling is from local sugar cane fields. We utilize a composting and recycling system. Solar panels are also being installed soon to power all of Casa Mana.
Enough about the house, let’s talk about what you can expect to do once you get here! Surf, surf and more surf. Nicaragua is blessed with an abundance of good waves, offshore winds, and sunny weather almost all year-round so you are sure to catch a few good waves. With just a few surfers and plenty of waves you will never have to battle for waves in a crowded line-up. If surfing is not your specialty, no worries, there are plenty of other activities to choose from as well: take a horseback ride on the beach, volunteer for a few hours at the local elementary school, indulge in a fantastic massage, play golf at the nearby Gran Pacifica golf course, hike down the river and take in the many species of birds, enjoy a relaxing massage, take day excursions to Granada/Leon/Masaya or maybe just enjoy some much deserved hammock time and a cold Tona. Be as lazy or as active as you desire.
Just a few feet away you will find Los Cardones Restaurant and ecolodge. This is a great place to grab a bite to eat, meet other travelers from all over the world, participate in preserving sea turtles and swing in a hammock while sipping on a cold drink. Los Cardones also has a wide array of surfboard & boogie board rentals to choose from. A little further down the beach you will find Gran Pacifica Resort, which has a yummy poolside restaurant.
If you want to escape the hustle & bustle of the usual tourist destination and experience nature, an unspoiled beach, and peace & quiet, this is the place for you. Casa Mana provides Nicaragua at her best.
Our property manager speaks fluent English, and will be available to greet you and help you with whatever needs you may have. Please inquire about our additional services: airport transportation, pre-stocking of groceries.

Summary: This was by far the best beach trip we have ever experienced. The house Casa Mana was perfect for our family of 4 and the community was super friendly and accommodating even with our language barrier. Dan and janelle do a great job handling all of our needs and great to et to know. We are not surfers but a great place to learn and just spend time on the beach with no crowds. I can’t say enough about this place and Nicaragua in general. We will be planning our next trip soon.

Summary: My husband and 11 and 12 yr old daughters and I arrived at Casa Mana and the first thing we found were cold beers and cupcakes in the fridge. Very nice! This modern home has everything you need including a roof top deck and air conditioning in the bedrooms. It's a short walk over to Los Cardones Surf Camp where they have great, fresh food and interesting people to hang out with. The beach itself goes on forever and was rarely populated with more than a couple people at a time. We aren't surfers but had a great time playing in the waves and exploring the shoreline. The girls went on a very affordable horseback ride while Tom and I took advantage of the $20 massages. An ocean breeze over bare skin, birds in the canopy, crashing waves and a soothing touch - for $20 you can't go wrong! If motion sickness is a problem for anyone in your group stock up on Gravol! The paved but twisting highway 8 leading down to the coast had one of my kids sick on the way in and the other one sick on the way out. While hard to stomach, the road features fantastic views of the rolling hills and ocean. Be sure you stock up on groceries in a major centre before turning off the PanAmerican, and be prepared to unplug for a while and just chill.

Summary: Our family of 5 stayed at Casa Mana for five nights. We had an amazing stay at the property. Days were spent strolling the un spoiled beaches, watching the wildlife, and exploring. Evenings were spent cooking home cooked meals, and enjoying a cervasa on the deck listing to the ocean. Janele was amazing having arranged a massage, fully stocked the house with bottled water, baked goodies, booked taxis, and was available for any questions we may have had. Our family felt safe and had a wonderful evening stay. We will be back for sure. The Eco lodge was also amazing. During our stay at Casa Mana we put up three of our daughters friends for four evenings. They had an amazing stay, rooms were clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was great also, having had a family dinner there during our stay at Casa mana. Wonderful time had by all! Thank you

Summary: Just returned from a 1 week stay at Casa Mana and I'm already planning next year's trip. Janelle, the property manager, was super helpful in helping our group arrange transportation, a rental car, and groceries for the house when we arrived. She periodically checked in with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied, which we definitely were! The house is beautiful and is located a rock's throw from the Pacific Ocean. We spend almost every evening on the rooftop deck reminiscing about our multiple surfs each day and gazed at the stars as a pleasant breeze kept us cool. Nearby Los Cardones Ecolodge (walking distance) was a hot spot for us as the food was out of this world and the hospitality from the staff was amazing. Everyone there greeted us with a genuine smile and made sure we always had a cold Toña in our hands. The surf out front was fun all day long and it was nice to be able to take a mid-day nap at Casa Mana with the AC on blast. Lots of memories were made at Casa Mana this past week and we can't wait until our next trip down!

Summary: If you are looking for a beautiful deserted beach, this is your place. The house is located 30 seconds walk away from the beach and the local surf camp, and has everything you need. Two good size bedrooms and a great bathroom ensure your creature comforts are catered for. An added bonus is the roof top terrace. The locals are friendly and the property manager will make sure you have everything you need. I will definitely go back.

Summary: We just spent several nights at Casa Mana in Finca Del Mar, a peaceful well-maintained community about 1 hours from Managua. Casa Mana was very comfortable and nicely appointed with spacious rooms and outdoor space. Overall, very nice accommodations and Cardona's restaurant was a real bonus. Friendly staff, good food, and a great place to interact with other travelers. The house isn't on the beach but close enough. As others have stated, Janelle was fantastic - very friendly, responsive and provided great information about things to do in the area. Oh - and can't forget the home-made treats she had for us upon arrival. Very sweet. Thanks for a restful retreat!

Summary: Finca Del Mar is an amazing little community off the beaten path. If you are looking for peace and quiet look no further. Casa Mana is beautiful, and the air conditioning and hot showers are a coveted luxury here. The house had all we could ask for and Janelle the property manager is amazing. She brought us fresh baked goods and she'll even bring fresh caught fish to your door if you ask her! We can't wait to return with our two little ones. The beach offers so many places to explore and cool wildlife from bats to boas! Having a surf break right out your front door doesn't hurt either! Oh and private yoga sessions on the beach? Yes please! We love love loved it and will return.

Summary: We just spent a week here - it was a fantastic experience. Super chill zone, surf daily, and very comfortable house for a great deal. The A/C is key on hot afternoons, and nice to have two bathrooms. We had a group of five friends, and it was a perfect spot. The only thing I would say about the description is it isn't directly on the beach, but a very short walk away. You can hang at the bar at the surf lodge, or cook and relax at home in the nice kitchen. Stock up in managua, or Janelle can help arrange groceries. Speaking of, Janelle is great - everything was perfectly set up and effortless, including airport rides. I'd also recommend a fishing trip with Captain Dan - super fun, with plenty of fish to be battled, while hunting the elusive rooster. I'd def recommend the house to friends, and plan to return again!
