Situated in the charming and very romantic medieval village of Faggeto Lario on the unspoilt eastern lakeshore of Lake Como close to Como city, this beautiful Apartment has been furnished to a luxurious finish throughout.
On entering this apartment, a spacious and stylish slate tiled open plan living area greets guests.
The contemporary fully-fitted kitchen provides the ideal place to home-cook for dinner parties, with a cupboard area, dishwasher and Oven to one wall and a free standing island unit with sink, hob and preparation area situated in the centre of the kitchen.
A contemporary long dining table with stylish seating accompanies the kitchen and a spacious and luxurious living area offers the ideal place to relax and unwind, with a 4 piece modernist leather suite and TV.
This apartment offers versatile and very comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 10 guests, with 3 luxurious and individually styled double bedrooms and 2 further stylish bedrooms with separate single beds.
The apartment also features 3 newly fitted high quality bathrooms which have been beautifully finished throughout and which feature all the desired sanitary ware.
Outside the apartment guests can enjoy its sunny garden with terrace and a shared communal swimming pool with 4 other apartments! We would like to advise our guests that large vehicle access is difficult down the steep cobbled driveway and that pedestrian access for elderly guests may be difficult.
Exploring the village of Faggeto Lario guests will find many fascinating buildings, ancient piazzas, medieval passageways and romantic churches.
The village provides some basic amenities for residents including a delicatessen, restaurant and cafe/bar. Due to its hillside location a car is essential for convenience and ease of movement to the lakefront and the other nearby towns.
The charming and very pretty lakefront is just a short drive away by car from the village and features many pretty harbours and local beauty spots. The cosmopolitan city of Como can be reached by car in less than 25 minutes and provides a wide variety of cafes, bars, restaurants, boutique shops, galleries and tourist sites such as the famous Duomo, the elegant Villa Olmo, the Volta museum and the funicular railway. Summary: I have such mixed opinions about this stay. The view of lake is stunning . There were grazing animals on the hillside which was so fun. The kitchen was amazingly stocked and the little village was great with amazing restaurant and while tiny grocery store it had amazing pasty. BUT.. be very cautious about the drive. I checked in advance and was told it would work with a 9 passenger van..we did manage as my husband is a very skilled driver but would not recommend with any large vehicle. The drive to the property is very steep and very narrow and then a SHARP turn into the driveway. None of the rest of us would tackle and there was no parking up top. I think would be tough but ok with smaller car but not with large vehicle. Downstairs was also very damp and it leaked in the rain. We loved the beautiful location but would never do again with large van.

Summary: We had a wonderful family holiday here. The view from it was magnificent & the apartment was well equipped. However, downstairs felt damp & the access to it was daunting. First gear up & down!

Summary: Firstly, the view here was amazing! We were able to see so much of the lake. It also had a little restaurant/bar a short walk away (up the driveway which allowed us to get some exercise) which was excellent as well as a trattoria a little further up some cobbled steps. The driveway, whilst steep and narrow was part of its charm and added to the experience. The layout of the apartments was also quite good as they surrounded the pool making it quite social. The apartment also had a lot of childrens toys and cutlery which for us as a large group travelling with children was particularly handy and much appreciated. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues which were disappointing: 1. The washing machine did not work despite repeated requests to fix - we were there with three very young children and had to hand wash every night in the bathroom basin 2. The bath didnt drain properly so children had to be bathed in the bathroom sink-not a complete drama but difficult considering their ages (10 months, 14 months and 3 years) 3. Wifi whilst prepaid was non existent - when we followed up with the property management, were advised wifi is not possible to get in Como (?). They did refund us our prepayment when we notified them. 4. The hot water was insufficient for the number of people who were allowed to stay there - we continuosly had to be resetting the system. Also the water pressure was often quite poor. 5. The cleanliness left a little to be desired - in one of the rooms there were cobwebs all around the window, and the main floor looked like it needed a good mop. 6. There was a damp smell in the lower levels (four of the bedrooms). The apartment is partially underground due to the landscape, however 2 of the bedrooms often needed airing.

Summary: Casa Tulipano Grande was a fantastic vacationrental on Lake Como! Its lake view location from its sunny mountainside location was so peaceful and just picture perfect! Our luxury apartment was so impressive and we all felt totally at home in its chic and contemporary interior. The condo pool was so much fun and the nearby city of Como offered a wide choice of restaurants, bars and shops. There was alot to see on Lake Como and the HHH team were so great at recommending nearby sites and hotspots for us to visit with our rental car. Thanks so much, we love Lake Como so much!

Summary: What a beautiful place! My family have just had a FANTASTIC holiday on the lakes! We found casa Tulipano Grande through lakecomohomes.com. The booking agents were really helpful and found us just what we were looking for. We wanted a luxury holiday home for our large party of 8, in a village along the tranquil eastern shore. The apartment was in the quaint village of Faggeto Lario, which was very pretty and offered a great little selection of amenities for us. We had a fantastic time driving around exploring the area! Bellagio and Como city were equally easy to reach by car from the property, so it was great for sightseeing as well as just normal holiday relaxing. We were all really impressed by the space and the high spec finish. Very modern and contemporary! The bedrooms were all great sizes which is just what we needed in the height of summer! There was a lovely lake view garden which we enjoyed and the small residence also offered a shared outdoor pool. I would really recommend this place for families and groups looking to explore the hidden charm of the lake. We had previously stayed in Menaggio so it was really nice to experience the lake in a more peaceful and timeless place without compromising on luxury. Thanks for making our holiday!

Summary: Thank you HHH for a super stay! Our holiday home felt totally exclusive from its small panoramic lake view location! The pool was so great and our apartment was beautifully furnished and presented for a luxury Lake Como stay. We were within easy reach by car from Como city and the central lake and its hillside location suited us just fine - we're from London so peace and tranquility was a rare and treasured treat! Just beautiful!

Summary: Casa Tulipano was amazing, the villa was really luxurious and much bigger than we were expecting. The directions to the property as advertised on the website were spot on and without them I think we would have got lost and it would be difficult to find the access road. The staff were brilliant, always at hand to help with queries both before and during our holiday, the service they provided was 5 star and thanks so much for all your help. We would only have one criticism and that is the cobbled private road down to the villa. We would expect such a luxurious villa to have a better driveway – getting down was hard to navigate though possible but getting back up the hill was a mission each time and the cars did not appreciate the trip – at one point we were worried we had burnt the clutch out. As a result we opted to park at the top of the village in the public car park We would certainly use Lake Como Homes again as a Holiday provider and hope to visit Lake Como again in the future.
