This Spanish-inspired Casona (Big House) on the north shore of Vieques is the ‘new kid on the block’ of high-end rentals. This house is a landmark on the area since it sits elegantly on top of a 1-acre lot as the great dame of Bo. Martineau. Looking up from the road what stand out are the arches, the long and spacious balcony, the wide open green spaces, and the multi level dignified structure that makes up Casona Martineau.
The house was exquisitely remodeled recently by a couple in love with Vieques. They combined the old style design with modern features. There is a huge fully outfitted "cook's kitchen", a large-screen plasma TV, Apple TV, Sonos music system around the house, DVD player, air conditioned bedrooms, hi-speed wireless internet. They have also added custom-made art from local artists, original paintings, and local crafts from around Vieques thus reflecting their interest in world craftwork and a comfortable, casual island lifestyle.
The four suites are beautifully assembled with high end mattresses, linens, and pillows and the bathrooms have been remodeled with the latest modern fixtures and stone-covered open showers. The ample Master suite hosts a wide soaking tub with views of the ocean. The main room is made up of towering wooden ceilings making it airy, open, and ideal for people to gather around.
The wide balcony accommodates a reclaimed wood dining table that sits 8, a grill, and comfy rocking chairs perfect for a morning coffee and/or sunset cocktail.
The grounds are wide with a variety of tropical trees (mangoes, lemons, and red flamboyan). Beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and thermoses are provided if you do decide to leave your private paradise to visit one of the many nearby sandy Vieques beaches.

Summary: The property manager stayed in contact I will say they should supply washcloths They only supplied the large towels. Bring your own. Otherwise everything else was very nice. Mattresses and beds in downstairs could be updated

Summary: This home was perfect for the three couples we travelled with... each enjoying their own bathroom.... with a spare room too! The rooftop offered incredible views to PR and Culebra! The front terrace was perfect for enjoying morning coffee for all. Kitchen was well equipped if one wanted to cook in... but we enjoyed the many great island restaurants. Beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas made touring the many beaches a pleasure! We're looking forward to our next stay soon! Thanks for sharing your great home. Chris

Summary: Immaculate and super views. Jose was so helpful and we loved the personal touches throughout the property. The location was so breezy (doors and windows open and no need for AC) and central to all beaches, horseback riding, scuba diving and the sugar mill ruins. Comfy beds, good sheets and did we say immaculate?!? We shall be back.

Summary: We were a group of 8. Once we got there we were amazed. Jose welcomed us to the house and explained everything. That house is not missing a thing you have towels, super comfortable beds, wifi, beach chairs etc. Just bring food and your clothing. Even that same night we all decided to extend our getaway for one more day and it was not a hassle. Jose was available all the time. We all loved it and we are sure we’ll return. The house was spotless.... loved it
