Summary: The Lighthouse Point cottages at Cedar point are a better deal than the Breakers Hotel. Only a 10 minute walk to park or short shuttle ride. It’s more private, great porch on lake and so quiet at night. (Coaster fans will enjoy the sound of Steel Vengeance) There is a grill, a parking space at your cottage and did I mention a porch on the lake. Plus early entry to park. No more Breakers for me.

Summary: The cabins are pretty nice, very close and cheaper than the hotel breakers. They were very short on blankets, luckily we had some in the car. We went to the pool the day we checked out and it was gross, tons of dead bugs like no one ever cleans it. More dead bugs in the bathrooms there and we had checked out already. But where we stayed was clean and I would stay there again.

Summary: We received confusing, highly contradictory, incorrect, and overly complicated instructions about the check-in process. Also, the property is advertised as sleeping 10, which can only be true if all ten people are leprechauns or paedomorphic grey aliens, because the two queen beds 'upstairs' are under a roof that is only about 2 feet from the top of the bed. Even small children had a hard time sleeping up there. And if you are claustrophobic, this is a horrible sleeping experience.

Summary: We stayed in the cottages on Lake Eerie, but all of the areas of Lighthouse Point looked very well cared for and landscaped. The Cottage was decorated nicely and we enjoyed sitting on our deck watching the boats go by. It was cloudy and cool while we were there but we did notice there would be no shade in the afternoon/evening. The cottages were very well designed and thought out. Our family of four (two young adult kids) were comfortable for three nights. My only complaint is that the cottage could have been a bit cleaner, but not in any way that would gross you out. All the important stuff was clean.
