Positive: Loved our stay! I had several hotels to pick from and I’m glad I chose the Celeste. The staff were incredible, accommodating, friendly and in such good spirits! Room was beautiful, comfortable beds, great breakfast in the chapel!
Negative: Parking was difficult. We parked in the World Trade overnight garage. Not too expensive, however it was a hassle with the construction around the building.
Summary: Amazing! Would definitely recommend a stay

Positive: loved the history of the building. the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. the breakfast was also very tasty. great spot to stay if you don’t have a car and you want to be in the heart of it all—very close to the Metro and right next to the Fitzgerald theater. the workout room was small but nicely outfitted.
Negative: if you are driving, this might not be your spot. you have to park at a public parking structure. I didn’t see anywhere on this website where it listed the location of the structure so we ended up in the first one we could find 2 blocks away. there was no place directly in front to unload our baggage, so we had to schlep our luggage from the expensive and slightly worrisome parking , through an extreme weather warning torrential downpour and up a flight of stairs to the front office. we arrived soaked to the bone and shivering and the lady at the front desk treated us like an inconvenience. I was put off by her attitude but chalked it up to a long day but I had to ask her a question this morning and the attitude remained the same. between the two interactions she did not once make eye contact, smile, greet me, or even use a pleasant tone. I don’t think the hospitality industry is the right fit for her frankly. my only other complaint is that our room did not even remotely resemble the room shown on this site (cozy king, electric fireplace, and a view of the city.) we got a sub level, austere nun’s quarters, no fireplace and an air/heating unit that only did freezing or off (remember we arrived soaked and shivering). if we hadn’t driven, arrived in a downpour, had a different check in experience, and had not seen the picture of the cozy room, I think we would have loved it.
Summary: cool building, great location, BUT…

Positive: Enjoyed the location centrally in St Paul close to restaurants.
Negative: Absolutely hated the parking ramp next to the hotel and would avoid staying at the Celeste again. I was caught and delayed 30 minutes one time trying to exit the ramp. Another time an attendant let me out. The two additional concerns were the sirens thru the night (I know they are necessary) and the location next to homeless shelter.
Summary: Won't return and not the hotels fault.

Positive: The breakfast was fine and in the pretty chapel room. The building was very interesting and clean. The location of the hotel was a problem because of the population on the street. When we first arrived, we were going to walk to dinner but due to loitering groups, and questionable characters on the sidewalk we decided to drive everywhere we went. In spite of this, I would definitely stay there again. At night from my room on the second floor, I could spot the lit up top of the capitol building and the churches across the street were elegant.
Negative: The front entry stairs could be swept and kept free of debris. There was only one chair in our room and it would have been nice to have two.
Summary: I would book this hotel again.
