Situated at the end of a quiet road, in a picturesque neighborhood is this quaint, water front cottage; the perfect combination of quintessential lake experience with all the conveniences of modern living. The original structure dates back to 1897 and has been updated with all the modern amenities. From the back porch french doors open to the dining room, which flows into a fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher, electric stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and an island for casual meals. Walking through the dining room brings you to the living room, preserved from the original 1897 structure, visible in the ceiling beams and the paneling, but updated with hardwood flooring and fireplace. Off this room is the cozy study, perfect for working on your computer, reading, resting or playing one of the board games found in the cupboard. Beyond the living room is the sun-room. A large tiled area enclosed with sliding glass doors on three sides, and a dining area for enjoying meals while taking in the panoramic view of the lake. There is a small dry-bar and a lovely sitting area for relaxing, entertaining or watching television. Through the sliding glass doors is the large deck, complete with deck furniture, gas grill, and stairs that lead to the private dock. The second floor is accessed from a winding staircase off the living room. There are three bedrooms, each with lovely views of beautiful Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg (a.k.a. Webster Lake). Occupants of the two front bedrooms can open the windows at night and drift gently to sleep with the soft sounds of waves lapping the shore. Additionally, the second floor has a half-bath with efficiency washer and dryer. The spacious master suite includes a queen size bed with walk-in closets. In the bedroom at the top of the stairs there is a full size bed and the third bedroom contains twin beds, a loft and a small sitting deck accessed by a sliding-glass door and spiral staircase. Summary: You can't choose a better location than this. The view of the lake and its easy access are all that you can hope for at this vacation property. My husband and I enjoyed spending the week here with our dog. The house is quirky - a cottage that has been added onto through the years with a tight winding staircase to the second floor where you will find the three bedrooms. There you will find window A/C units which allow for a comfortable night's rest. The main floor is spacious with a large kitchen/dining area, living room, sitting room, and the best part of all - the large family room facing the water. This floor is cooled by a window A/C unit in the dining room and strategically placed fans which cool the area. Not only is the kitchen fully equipped with all you would need for your stay, Kathy provides additional items you may have never thought you'd want to have with you. The bathroom is stocked with items you may have forgotten to bring with you. Bug spray? Nail Polish remover? Q-Tips - she's got you covered. All in all, this was a great vacation spot and you won't be disappointed. Kathy checks you in on your arrival, through the week, and before you check out. Two things to note for future renters: 1. The staircase is tight and narrow - carrying bags up and down or someone with mobility issues will be challenged. 2. This is a lake house and with that come certain creepy crawlies. If you have arachnophobia, this may not be the place for you.

Summary: Kathy is a great host! The house is on a beautiful location of the lake. Fantastic lake side dining about 2 miles away. The sunroom and deck are all you need. House is old and has charm. I would stay here again when visiting area.

Summary: The lakeside cottage is really a lovely older home with modern updates . It has charm and character. The kitchen is well equipped with pot,pans and dishes. An expansive family room and deck look out onto a beautiful lake. Perfect for morning coffee and sunrises as well as whole day relaxation. The grounds are neat and plentiful planters provide pops of color. My family and i were very impressed and look forward to another visit next summer.

Summary: The host was very friendly and responsive. The house is lovely. The deck overlooking the water is wonderful. We also liked the sun room at the back as we still felt like we were on the lake even when it was raining. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed. Overall a nice stay with some indoor days, some outings and some great swimming off the dock.

Summary: The cottage could not have been nicer! Perfect place to relax and enjoy the lake and all the area has to offer. Premises was very clean and well stocked with comfortable furnishings and deck chairs. Or host, Kathleen, made the whole process very comfortable and pleasant. Highly recommend cottage to anyone visiting the area!

Summary: Beautiful old family lake house in a quiet neighborhood. Sunrises and sunsets on the lake were as spectacular as they get. Kayaks included and everything else you would need for a home away from home. Dogs invited and my dog lounged on the deck many afternoons enjoying the sun. Owner was gracious and accommodating.
