"Ecurie Ecosse" is a charming cottage set in the grounds of a lovely restored 18th Century Country House with mature private gardens in the midst of beautiful French countryside.
Heated swimming pool with sunny patio.
Gardens are fenced and secure...... ideal for holidaying just as a couple or with a young child or pet.
Not suitable for impaired mobility.
The gite has it's own private gardens, gazebo, barbecue and outside dining area....... with easy access to the private heated pool in a secluded position in the grounds and can be floodlit at night.
Situated in the Bouriane, a pretty area of trees, hills and rolling farmland lying midway between the valleys of the Lot and Dordogne. Weekly markets, shops and restaurants can be found in nearby market towns.
Country setting but convenient for A20 autoroute & D820 (RN20) giving easy access to surrounding area including the medieval town of Gourdon and historic Cahors set within a loop on the river Lot. Domme, Sarlat, Rocamadour, Padirac and the river Dordogne are a short drive north and equidistant southwards is the unspoilt valley of the river Lot with riverside hamlets and the beautiful village of St-Cirq-Lapopie set in a cliff face overlooking the river. Traditional festivals and fetes are often held in nearby villages and the area is ideal for day trips, walking, canoeing and golf.

Summary: We had a wonderful week here at Ian and Lesley's place. It is very secluded and peaceful, yet close to lots of interesting towns, villages and sites. The pool is excellent and the whole place with its lovely garden is a really relaxing environment. Ian and Lesley were always on hand for any tips/help, but also very respectful of their guests' space. All in all, this is the perfect location for exploring the beautiful Lot region. We would love to come back!

Summary: Great place for a quiet relaxing holiday. Although there is plenty to see and do locally if you want. Ian and Lesley were great hosts and the gite is well equipped and comfy. Pool is lovely too. Thanks for a great week.

Summary: We had a wonderful two weeks at La Pastoral. Location was peaceful and quiet in lovely rural setting. The gite had everything we needed and was well equipped. Kitchen was well laid out and had everything required. Comfortable lounge area with TV set up with Skybox so UK tv accessible so it was nice to still watch news and general entertainment. Bedroom comfortable with air conditioning unit. Large garden with outdoor seating and BBQ. Wonderful swimming pool, great for cooling off after days exploring. We enjoyed lots of great days out, gite was ideally positioned for exploring the Lot and Dordogne. Plenty of local markets and amazing restaurants. Hosts Ian and Lesley gave us some great suggestions of places to visit and supplied us with a map to get us started in the area. We also enjoyed some very welcome visits from Charlie their retriever . Shops close by, 10min drive to Labastide Murat. Many thanks to our hosts Ian and Lesley

Summary: We had a wonderful holiday. Ian and Lesley were friendly and helpful hosts. We loved our visits from Charlie the dog. The swimming pool was heaven helping us cool down on very hot days. Will definitely return.

Summary: We spent a week in this beautiful place. The property is in a stunning rural area, with cows for neighbours, wonderful views, hardly any traffic passing the gates and opportunity for local walks on quiet roads/tracks. The gite is small but well thought out and equipped with everything you might need. There is a huge private garden for the gite with sun loungers, barbecue, outdoor dining area and both sunny and shady areas to relax in. The whole property is also very dog-safe and dog-friendly, being enclosed all the way around. It seems that most guests' dogs, like ours, are soon adopted by the hosts' dog Charlie, and are guaranteed to have a good time with him! The pool is lovely, with the added bonus of being heated, so swimming was enjoyable even on the cooler days we had. Ian and Lesley were wonderful hosts, on hand if needed but also affording us our privacy. The gite is very well placed for exploring both up towards the Dordogne river and down to the Lot valley. I would definitely recommend a stay here, and would definitely stay here again if we were back in this area.

Summary: An enjoyable break in a quiet and attractive location. Wonderful hosts, nothing too much trouble. Comfortable accommodation, clean and well equipped with spacious enclosed gardens and a glorious heated pool. Charlie, the resident friendly golden Labrador (and unofficial pool guardian) made Tessa our staffie very welcome and they spent most of their time together. Historically a fascinating area, many tourist attractions within easy driving distance (Gourdon and Cahors) all with good restaurants.
