Summary: We spent a very nice week in August at ‚La petite maison‘. Our hosts were very friendly and replied quickly to any requests. We even got a pick up at the train station as we arrived by train which our tired kids and us appreciated very much. The house had just the right size for us with the two older kids staying in the basement room and the youngest sharing a bed with us. The basement room was a bit moist, but with airing out every morning and evening it worked out fine. We very much enjoyed sitting on the terrace for breakfast and dinner and that the house was so close to shops, town and the small town beach. Larger beaches are also easy to reach. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and would like to thank our two hosts for their hospitality.

Summary: The property is located in a quiet residential street near to some local shops and about a mile on foot to the Vieux Port - a lovely tree lined stroll. The house is small but perfect for two people. We only used the ground floor - bedroom, shower, wc, kitchen and a nice sunny sitting room leading out into a small garden. NB Access to the basement accommodation is via very steep stairs. Only practical for the young and nimble! The house is a good base from which to explore the wonderful port town of La Rochelle.

Summary: This property was good for my wife and I. Everything we needed was available. The location is good with a lovely stroll along the water into the town centre. Parking outside on the road was not ideal and it was our 3rd day before we could park directly outside of the house. Only downside was the based bedroom, this is not suitable for use. It is noisy due to hum of fans and dehumidifer that was needed to keep the damp smell down. Great house if you are looking for one bedroom.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Le Petit Maison. The house is in a great location for walking into town and we only used the car to drive over to the Ile de Ré. Lots of green areas in close proximity to walk the dog as well as the sunny and secure garden at the back of the house which was also dog friendly.

Summary: Fantastic house for family & our dog! My teenage son enjoyed the privacy of the basement bedroom. Our dog loved the garden & we got up every morning & walked her in the wooden area at the end of the road by the Casion & then the park (off lead). Easy walk to the Old Town with lots of restaurants. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Good old fashioned conversing with French owner Michele lots of actions & smiles as my French is very poor. Definitely recommend for a chilled holiday playing lots of board games in the garden drinking good French wine 🍷 Merci

Summary: Very nice house, living room is larger than it looks on photos. Garden was ideal for our little dog. Owner was very friendly and prompt. Very close to town centre, 10 min walk, and it's a lovely walk, either down along the waterfront or along the grassed centre parade. La Rochelle is full of lovely bars/restaurants (all dog friendly) and loads of shops - especially ladies fashion shops. Everywhere we ate they spoke good English. We went a boat day trip to the i'le d'aix, a very small pretty island, we also saw Fort Bouyard on the journey. The Casino is just 2 mins walk and is a great place for a drink, there's a separate bar area and a restaurant, and a outside terrace overlooking the harbour, you don't have to dress fancy (we wore jeans and trainers) and dogs are welcome inside. Remember to take your own bedding and towels. I believe it is normal for these not to be provided in France. There were a mattress protectors, a quilted throw, a very long pillow, and some blankets, but you definitely need to take your own sheets (I took all our own bedding including quilt and pillows just in case). There is wifi in the house as well. Overall a very nice place in a very good location!

Summary: The property was in a good location. Communication was very good although it was occasionally difficult given to the couple not speaking English fully. They were very patient despite our delayed arrival. We loved our stay at the place.

Summary: We had a wonderful holiday in La Rochelle. The house was perfect for us. It is very close to the sea, the old town, the market, the park and a charming row of shops. Our two girls (4&5yrs) walked everywhere so there was no need for a hire car. The bus station is close by and we took a trip to the I'le De Re and hired bikes when we got there. We particularly enjoyed eating in the garden which we had not expected to be able to do in March. Merci Beaucoup.
