Unique, charming 1930's home, just minutes from Portland by bike or car, fully remodeled, w/custom handmade furnishings made w/local hardwoods. New high efficiency gas furnace and nearly new central air conditioning
Our cozy home has a fully loaded gourmet kitchen.
We have been listed on another site for over 4 years, with mostly 5 star reviews, occasionally something will malfunction, thus the near perfect score.
Master suite w/king bed and a top of the line Stearns and Foster mattress, a walk-in closet and a desk and office chair dedicated to working.
2nd bedroom w/brand new queen nectar mattress.
King sleeper sofa w/memory foam mattress.
New Coleman high efficiency gas furnace to keep you toasty warm on cold winter mornings, and cozy down comforters for cold winter nights.
Covered patio, plenty of outdoor seating, natural gas BBQ, and firepit.
Fenced yard for pets.
Local fav cafe across the street.
The space
Our home is an enjoyable space to relax with family or friends.
It has a very functional kitchen with a 4 burner gas range, oven with convection, a 4 slice toaster, an under cabinet microwave oven, very nice heavy stainless steel cookware, ceramic coated frying pans, as well as cast iron, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, mixer, barware.
Laundry is located in the basement and soap is provided.
Relax outdoors in the 4 seat outdoor table, 6 outdoor chairs, and 2 loungers, cook on the natural gas BBQ, nice fenced yard and garden and a large covered patio and deck. In the summer enjoy fresh tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries and fresh herbs from the garden.
There is a fire pit, it is new and runs on propane.
Guest access
The guests will have access to the entire house with the exception of a closet off the master bathroom, a closet in the basement and the garage interior.
The house will all be yours as will the large driveway where you can park up to 3 cars on site, and 2 on street, and private fenced yard.
Other things to note
We have no dining room in the house, but we just purchased a small dining table and 4 chairs.
There is also a bar area between the kitchen and living room that seats 2, as well as seating in the living room for 5, a wicker pouf, and a 4 seat umbrella table outdoors.
There are guys who mow the lawn on thursdays, so you may want to keep an eye on your dogs that day because the gates will be open for half an hour or so. It’s usually in the afternoon.
Our home is dog friendly, and you can bring your canine friends along with you. We would limit the amount of dogs to 3 small dogs or 2 larger dogs.
There is a simple fee for bringing your pet friends along with you of $50, you will check the box for pets when you book, or i will request it after you check-in. This is to offset the cost of lawn repair, and hair removal. We provide towels and sheets to cover the bedspread if your pets like to sleep on the bed with you. We also have a doggie door suited for small to medium dogs, 2 sizes of dog beds, as well as food and water bowls located in the basement. Please pick up after your friend with the provided bags.
If you have allergies to dogs and cats our house may not be your best choice, as most of our guests have dogs, and some have cats.
Its a great neighborhood for walking or cycling, with bike paths every direction, and to downtowns waterfront. Nearby Sellwood has Oaks amusement park, a great place to take the kids. Sellwood Riverfront Park, a great dog park on the Willamette river, great for swimming with your pups and kids in the summer, and a nice place to bring the beach chairs and a cooler (all provided).
Sellwood has many wonderful restaurants as well, and many smaller parks and playgrounds. In summer the local parks sponsor free concerts.

Summary: We were in Portland to visit relatives of the 4th of July weekend. Kate was easy to communicate with anything we needed. The house was clean and everything promised. The location was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: We were visiting family in Portland and had great time. It was a pleasure staying at the house- the living room was comfortable, kitchen fully stocked and the outdoor sitting space was lovely. The location was ideal as it was 7 minutes away from our family. Good communication with the co host.We would absolutely stay here again

Summary: Maps found the location easy and it was exactly as it looked on line, only pictures of the inside did not do it justice. The cabinetry and furnishings are beautiful, and make it feel so comfortable and homey that relaxing is instant. Kathleen has thought of everything and then some. We tend to like cooking our own meals and there seems to be double of each utensil which is a dream as some of us are gf and others are not. She had pots n pans, vegetable steamer and pasta pot, seasonings, plenty of hot pads and an Apron!!!! We utilized one of the small coolers to keep water cool on our day trips, the washer & dryer were so handy as we had 7 days along the coast where washer n dryers seem to be elusive before arriving at our next stop in Lafayette, CA. The only regret, not staying longer. Thank you Kathleen.

Summary: Delightful and charming home in a wonderful location. Clean and comfortable. Great outdoor space too, and perfect for dogs. Great location with quick and easy access to the best areas of Portland and downtown Milwaukie. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Summary: Perfect, pet friendly place in great Milwaukee neighborhood. Convenient to everything in area. Really nice high end accommodations, fully equipped for a family or your furry friends. Fenced in yard is very secure and private. Plenty of sitting areas outside. Beds were comfortable. Living areas very nice. Kitchen fully equipped. Extra credit for the high tech bidet in the spacious bathroom! Hopefully, not the last time we’ll stay here. Highly recommended!

Summary: This house is such a cute property, located in a quiet neighborhood. This location is prime for trips into and outside of Portland. The house has all the modern updates and is equipped with everything you could need for your stay. There is a convenience store located across the street for any last minute items you may need, or if you just need a snack or drink. I highly recommend eating at Milwaukie Cafe across the street at least once. The food and coffee are great. I think we grabbed breakfast there three days in a row!! Kate the host is easy to get a hold of and answered all questions quickly, and offered great sight seeing and food recommendations. She was in Spain during our stay and her neighbor Brenda was available for anything we needed. If I’m ever in Portland again, I would absolutely book this property again.

Summary: We have absolutely no complaints. Quiant, comfortable accommodations. It has a little bit of everything you might need. Outdoor area provided a relaxing environment. We found the location worked well for us. Definitely considering coming back here next year!

Summary: There was a glitch when we arrived in that the housekeeper got the dates mixed up and it had not been cleaned yet so we had to stay in a hotel. But the host promptly refunded our money for the first night and it was clean upon our return the next morning. This house has all the amenities you could ever want and is well stocked as far as food and bathroom supplies.
