Positive: Beautiful cottage on a hillside overlooking Belper. The cows mooing and sheep on the fields, while having a cup of tea on the front veranda in the afternoon sunshine. Comfortable lounge area, breakfast and kitchen to suit all needs, with a double and 2 single bedded rooms upstairs, and the shower over-bath room downstairs. Easy access to the Derwent valley attractions not far away. The kind of place you could easily go back to. Thank you to the Jordans for their lovely cottage.
Negative: Not a lot, but the stairs are steep, and a hand rail on the right hand side would help on the staircase

Positive: The cottage has nice character and is in a quiet rural setting but in easy reach of the Peak District and shops, pubs, etc. at Belper. Generally very comfortable - beds, lounge, etc
Negative: 1.The steep gravel track up to the cottage is very poor, with a combination of potholes and bumps in the tracks and a high grass strip down the middle. OK for a tractor (!) but not great for a small family hatchback. 2. Unlike other holiday cottages, there was no information folder containing contact numbers for emergency services, etc. and guidance such as - what happens about emptying bins ? & where is the master switch for the electric shower? 3. Some parts didn't seem to have been properly cleaned & a couple of the towels were stained.
Summary: Nice break. Potentially great cottage let down by a few shortcomings.
