Summary: We loved the location and being in the woods! It was very warm for colorado but cooled down at night. Very quiet and got some visits from wildlife. Loved the place and Jim and Linda are great hosts. We will be back!

Summary: This cabin was exactly as pictured and described. We chose it for the quiet wooded location and proximity to Durango. Every evening after day tripping around the area we relaxed on the screen porch and then star gazed at night. No light pollution anywhere! Host is gracious and kind. Our car broke down and he came to get us! A lovely vacation!

Summary: We enjoyed this peaceful cabin in the woods among the deer. Yes, it is on the owner's property just up the hill from their house, but they totally respected our privacy. This is such a wonderful place to have a vacay away from the normal daily routine. The inside is done in all wood (pine paneling on walls, ceiling, and staircase) and is beautiful, and is just what you might expect from a cabin in the woods. The loft is a perfect place for two kids to sleep, but you wouldn't want to sleep there as an adult due to the low ceiling. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, except the food, of course. Loved the gas stove since we are used to cooking on that at home. We used the heating system due to the chilly nights at the beginning of June, and it was a bit loud, but we just closed the bedroom door and that really helped it not to interrupt our sleep. The screened porch is a wonderful place to sit and watch for deer in the evening as they usually could be spotted up the hill to the left. We enjoyed visiting Mesa Verde NP one day, and the next day we took the train from Durango to Silverton (highly recommend that trip!) and rode the bus back, which was a quicker return option. This allowed us to visit the Train Museum before the others who came back on the train. We also drove up to Vallecito Reservoir, and then went to Durango and walked on the Animas River walk which was a beautiful walk since all the wildflowers were out. A very nice trip to SW Colorado!

Summary: This is a nice location about 20 min from Durango. We stayed the end of August and the weather was upper 70,s day, 50 at night with very low humidity. There are walking trails on the hills behind the cabin. Jim & Linda live on the property(16 acres) and gave us a tour of their little farm. Jim took us on the hiking trails behind the cabin. This is a very laid back setting, no tv or internet which made for a very relaxing stay.
