Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at Skylark Guesthouse. The property has retained a rustic feel even though the cottage is brand new! We loved canoeing on the lake and enjoying our coffee on the dock. What a gorgeous view! The location is central to either side of the province. We enjoyed both Lunenburg and Digby areas from the cottage. We recommend you bring a radio as it is very quiet and the TV is really for the owners use. The kitchen is very well equipped and the charcoal BBQ met all of our needs. If you are looking for private and peaceful we definitely encourage a visit to this property. We enjoyed our short time at this hidden gem. Vickey warmly greeted us at the cottage and was a wealth of information and just a phone call away if we needed anything. Thank you Lerche family for providing such a great space to enjoy. Melanie and Jay Hamilton, Ontario

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely vacation retreat. It was terrific and everything we had hoped for and exactly as described. We enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour canoe paddle around the entire lake yesterday and the evenings on the point at sunset are divine. We also appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and the well kept and clean nature of the house. Vicky, who greeted us and met us at departure, is terrific. We were sorry to leave.

Summary: Our family (2 adults, 2 children) spent 5 days at the property in late June/ early July. We absolutely loved the house, the property, and the lake and spent plenty of time enjoying the outdoors by swimming, kayaking, and fishing (caught a lot of smallmouth bass). The house is modern, well-appointed, clean and Stefan is a forthcoming, friendly, and a helpful owner. The property has three things worth noting though: The well water has a condition in that it is brown and has a stench, which the owner warns about, yet it is something to get used to. The bedrooms had no shades, which led our small children to get up extra early. Lastly, the property is truly remote. It takes 20 minutes to reach a store or gas station, so visitors should plan ahead. We would recommend the property to anyone wanting to visit Nova Scotia, which is definitely worth a trip. Thanks to Stefan for envisioning such a nice house and letting us stay there.

Summary: If you are looking for a cabin that is off the beaten path & private, this is the cabin for you! The pictures online are a honest representation of what you will find at the property - you will feel like you are on your on private island. Our family of four spent much of our time enjoying the porch, the dock and the fire pit. Our boys especially liked taking the canoe out. We planned various trips out to hike, bike and raft around the area but our favorite part was always relaxing back at the cabin. The house, the view and the setting were all fantastic! Thank you!
