Model Farm is a country house consisting of an impressive Victorian front to a 17th century farmhouse and cider barn. The accommodation is all in one house, sleeping up to 27 in 11 bedrooms, 6 en-suite with 4 bathrooms. The Victorian area retains many of the original features, high ceilings with impressive cornicing, original fireplaces and stained glass windows. There are two large lounges, a dinning room and a new kitchen leading onto our Orangery function room, which can be used for dining, dancing or functions. There is also an additional kitchen/diner in the Cider Barn with table football table and just outside a large covered loggia with BBQ area suitable for outside dining.
Outside there is a log fired Scandinavian style Hot Tub seating 8 people, a 25m swimming pond, an outside kitchen next to our log burning pizza oven and several patio areas, with plenty of seating throughout the grounds. There are 4 acres of glorious gardens with large selection of different plants designed around being wildlife friendly, you will find plants of interest throughout all the seasons of the year. We also have a croquet lawn, football area, lots of outdoor games and ample off road parking.
We tend to specialise in large groups for the weekend normally for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday and you don't need to leave until Sunday afternoon if you wish. This is around 2/3 the price of a weeks stay. A 3 night stay or mid-week stay is also available. We are happy for all types of group to stay apart from very young adults and stag parties. We will also consider up to 3 dogs per group.
We have ample car parking and a free to use electric car charger, or it is a fairly short taxi ride from Bridgwater station.
Model Farm is situated in the hamlet of Perry Green only 8 minutes by car from Bridgwater, yet in the peace and quiet of the country. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are only 5 miles away. The Quantock Hills are a short drive away and there are plenty of footpaths in the area with some excellent walking where you can visit the many pubs in the local area for a great lunch or dinner. The village of Cannington with its pubs and gardens is a pleasant walk away and also has a golf course, horse riding, paintball/laser shooting and an adventure climbing area.

Summary: We were all very impressed with the place, for a huge property it was exceptionally clean everywhere and filled with everything you need. Bigger with some older style rooms, it gave a great feel for hide and seek. It provided a good base for all of us to hang out together whilst giving some space, great for games and a couple walks in the area. We really enjoyed our cold pond dips followed by warming up in the hot tub. This was already warmed up for us on arrival and lots of wood and starters provided for the week to keep it hot. The pizza oven was also a great hit, and David, his wife and the gardener easily available and friendly. Thank you!

Summary: There are just too many thing to list that we enjoyed. We booked this property for for Dads 80th Birthday supprise. The property more than catered for 19 of us with extrem comfort and space. The house and location was just beautiful with 4 acres of Garden to enjoy, along with the open water naterual swiming pond, out door eating area with wood fired Pizza oven and an amazing wood fire hot tub, just brilliant. Dave could not have been more accomodating, helping us hide the cars to suprise Dad, to arranging room layout the week before, even contacting us a couple days before just to confirm everything was ok and even allowed us to check in earlier than anticapated which really helped with the supprise. Would defiently recomended this property. Nothing was too much trouble. Had an awsome stay, thank you.

Summary: Amazing house for a short weekend away with friends. We came for Easter weekend with a large group of 19 people. We ordered pizzas from the local pizza restaurant under David’s recommendation which made cooking easier and were great pizzas that arrived nice and hot. We did spot a mouse in one of the rooms however but as people who live in the rural countryside ourselves, it’s expected in these types of properties. Overall great stay and lovely facilities- amazing hot tub and we loved the outside swimming pond for a cold dip in the mornings!

Summary: We spent New Year at Model Farm as a group of 18 friends and family. It was a wonderful experience from refreshing dips in the ‘swimming pond’, firing up the pizza oven and the hot tub, countryside walks to local pubs, as well as relaxing in the gorgeous glass roofed Orangery. The owner Dave is a gem, quick to reply to messages and on hand to give advice when needed. Highly recommended.

Summary: Beautiful house x it has everything you need and require x the gardens were very lovely although not private enjoyed the hot tub and the cold water swimming pool x we had a lovely stay in this beautiful house but maybe would of preferred a more private experience with guaranteed privacy in the gardens x
