Summary: We had a lovely vacation stay at the cabin; a relaxed secluded feel with the ability to take day trips to surrounding areas in Vermont. The cabin itself is very nice and very well maintained by the owners.

Summary: We really enjoyed our early-fall stay at Mark's and Melissa's cottage. Not only is it a beautiful location right on the lake, it is also very obvious how much effort, time, and energy the two must have invested into their place to make it as lovely as it is. With nature, kayaks, and fishing right at our feet (and we didn't even get to explore much beyond because this kept us so busy - or rather, relaxed), we could have easily spent another week or two there. Thanks so much, Mark and Melissa, for sharing your second home!

Summary: We loved our stay at The Boathouse! The house is very cozy and has everything you need to make yourselves at home, and the private dock is a dream. The house and location allowed us to have the perfect mix of activities and relaxation time. We didn't know that we needed to bring our own linens before we left our house, and Mark and Melissa were able to leave some behind for us which was very appreciated. We already want to go back!

Summary: We were incredibly lucky to find this beautiful home on an absolutely gorgeous lake. Everything was clean, the house was very well prepared for our arrival, everything we could have needed was there for us, and the lake was an absolute delight. We had a bit of separation depression leaving and can’t wait to come back in the future

Summary: The whole experience was great. The cottage is exactly as depicted and our family really enjoyed it. It was myself, my husband and our son (25) and daughter (18). We had our own bedroom and they each had their room and it was the perfect size for the four of us. The kayaks and private dock and swimming platform were definitely a plus. Although it was different to have an outdoor shower it was directly in front of the house and we didn’t find it to be inconvenient at all. Mark was great with communication as well. I would definitely recommend this cottage...it was perfect!!

Summary: This little cottage is beautiful and comfortable--- just like the pictures! It is set up perfectly, whether you want to laze around, or do more active stuff. On a practical note: We felt remote, but had easy access to grocery shopping, and even had a tire repaired, in Casleton. My BF spent hours just reading, while I "played house" in the well equipped kitchen.... I made popovers, which we ate on the deck; he handled grilling many of our evening meals. I spent an afternoon napping in the shady hammock. We hiked at Lake Bomoseen, swam, kayaked, and walked/ ran around the lake to the "fishing access" areas, and back (about 4 miles)... made friends with people across the lake, who let us use their dock--- when I decided that I MUST swim across the lake! We kayaked over, chatted with them while they helped tie my kayak to my BF's; he paddled next to me (to keep me visible to boaters, and help me out if it got to be too much for me.) All went well: I swam across the lake-woohoo! The shower-house is rustic, but perfectly adequate.... I suggest that you start "air flow management" in the a.m., with the well-placed fans, to have the upstairs be relatively cool, at night... Someone else mentioned the stairs, and I agree: They are sturdy, well-lighted, and have a good hand-railing, but they are small, to leave more living space. Keep this in mind if you have mobility issues, or get up a lot, at night. (The bathroom is down stairs). This is a wonderful place, and we hope you don't book it, because we want to make sure they have time for US -LOL! We definitely want to come back, next year!
