Summary: This was the perfect romantic birthday weekend cabin! We originally planned to camp at Cowans Gap State Park but changed our minds when we found out there was a fire ban state wide. We were depending on a fire for cooking and heat, so without that our tent camping didn’t seem ideal. Last minute we searched Vrbo and found the perfect cozy cabin located just outside the park. It was the perfect home base as we needed a restful place to stay after long day hikes in the surrounding area. The kitchen had the essentials to cook simple meals and to our surprise there was a complimentary bottle of wine which we enjoyed. There are neighbors around but everyone is quiet. There is a nice TV for some much needed relaxing movie nights as the sun sets early this time of year. The only small inconveniences and they were small, was the water pressure is a little weak when drawing from multiple sources and the WiFi is not strong enough for 4K streaming. We definitely managed especially since we are kinda in the middle of nowhere and expect to disconnect from the world. Comfortable bed, cozy sofas, and a wonderful sunroom for sipping on coffee in the morning. Will definitely keep this place in mind when visiting the park in the cooler months. Wish we could bring our two dogs.

Summary: The cabin was cute. Nicely decorated. The large deck was a very relaxing hang out spot. The cabin could have used a little extra tender loving care as far as the cleaning goes. The kitchen wasn’t stock very well. If you plan on cooking make sure to take more cooking essentials such as pots and pans, sheet pans, mixing bowls, baking dishes, dish towels, paper towels, plastic wrap, foil etc…The grill was left very dirty and had a broken gas tank, so we didn’t get use it. Both of the outside screens doors would not latch. We went to the lake and came back with wet cloth and no where to hang them. A clothes line would be great. Also extra trash bags would be nice or at least let the renters know to bring some with them. The flash lights are a great ideal, but if the power went out they did not have batteries in them,so kind of useless. The location and area is nice and very quiet. Nice view if you don’t look down into the neighbors. All in all we had a nice time.

Summary: Came for a girls trip over the weekend and we loved it. Super cute and cozy cabin, peaceful area, lots of great scenery and our favorite part was the beach that was a quick 2 min drive. We spent the day by the water and enjoyed the trails in the surrounding area. Definitely would love to come back!
