Located only 7 miles from downtown Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and Wine Country makes this the perfect place to get away, relax, or to enjoy all that Fredericksburg has to offer. The Guest Quarters were constructed inside of a large country barn overlooking Bear Creek on 33 acres.
Creekside was beautifully constructed and decorated in Texas Hill Country charm, antiques, and stained concrete floors. A large wood burning stone fireplace with a 40” HD flat screen is the focal point in the spacious living/dining area. This room has attention to detail with a vaulted ceiling constructed from long leaf pine reclaimed from a 1920’s German Homestead in addition to the custom cabinetry throughout. The kitchen has granite counter tops and is fully equipped with full size appliances, pot/pans, dishes. The bedroom also has a vaulted ceiling and is very cozy and quiet for a good night’s sleep on the luxury queen size mattress high thread count sheets. The bathroom is very spacious with a large walk in shower.
Outside, there is plenty of outdoor lighting and the huge pergola offers a place to relax, dine, or enjoy views of the Hill Country. In addition, there is also a wood burning stone fire pit with plenty of seating to break the winter chill.. The yard is beautifully landscaped with Texas native plants to attract butterflies and hummers. Be sure to explore the property to enjoy the abundant wildlife and song birds. You can also beat the heat by taking a short hike to the “swimming hole” for a dip in the clear waters of Bear Creek (during non-drought conditions).

Summary: My husband and I booked this weekend getaway for our 22nd wedding anniversary and by far it exceeded our expectations! The property was so absolutely beautiful! The home is so beautifully decorated! You can tell the owners have put so much love and hard work into this place! My husband and I both felt so at home there! We enjoyed the peacefulness and privacy of this property. We enjoyed listing to the sounds of nature, the wind blowing in the trees, birds chirping, and the hummingbirds! The number of hummingbirds was just amazing! We could sit inside and watch them fly around like little bees! You could even hear their tiny wings as they fluttered around the feeders! While we were there the weather turned a little rough the first night and the owners graciously allowed my husband to park his truck in their garage! We were able to meet the owners, and they are the sweetest couple! Our stay there truly made our 22nd anniversary a very memorable one! We look forward to coming back very soon!

Summary: Even better than the photos!!! This is one of our favorite VRBO’s we have stayed in. Incredible view of the stars. Very beautiful and relaxing place with deer nearby. Amazing hosts!!

Summary: We really enjoyed every minute at Creekside Barn. Shirley & Wayne have a lovely spot here, every possible thing you may need is in the cabin. The highlight is how peaceful and quiet it is there with hummingbirds, deer, squirrels and “Arnie” the armadillo. If we lived in the USA we’d come every year!

Summary: I could go on and on about this property! CLEAN! ORGANIZED! THOUGHTFUL! This was the best VRBO/Air Bnb I have stayed at by far. Reminded me of my Dads place, even the little walking trail between homes. He always did a trail of lights on his at Christmas. Ample space to do different things and nature everywhere. Humming bird heaven. Don’t even get me started on the cookies they were wonderful. The property has two access points to a creek and I saw some beautiful turtles as well as a fox. I love the fact that y’all don’t over clutter the rental. It keeps it clean and fresh looking. Everything was just so well thought of and I just want to say thank you for that. It really takes someone special to put in that much thought. I got to meet Mr. Wayne but unfortunately not his wife. He was kind and helpful. We appreciate y’all opening up your home to us and hopefully we will be back one day now that we have family in the area. If you are looking at this review don’t hesitate and BOOK THIS PLACE NOW! :)
