CREEKSIDE RETREAT, 10 MILES NORTH OF WOODLAND PARK, is a private property with a gorgeous view of Pikes Peak and a babbling creek running through it. The retreat is located 30 miles from CO Springs, only 10 miles north of Woodland Park in Pike National Forest. The map doesn't show the correct location.
The house is built in a little historic settlement founded here during the Colorado Gold Rush days. Yes, you can still pan for gold in the creek if you know how... You can also fish there without a license since the creek is on private property. There are some historic Prospector's Cabins near us, reminding us of the Colorado Gold Rush...
Nearby attractions include Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (a geological wonder with some prettified wood), Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Santa's Workshop AMUSEMENT PARK, some historic mountain towns, Victor and Cripple Creek, full of mining and railroad history, and much more. Most of Colorado Springs's attractions are within 30 miles: Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Indian Cliff Dwellings, and more.
The house is excellent for two couples or one family, with a maximum of 6 guests (including children). It is a perfect spot for a getaway or a family vacation, offering a variety of activities such as whitewater rafting, dirt biking, rock climbing, hiking, and more.
The house has three bedrooms: the spacious master bedroom has a new king-size bed; the second bedroom has two queen-size beds; and the small bedroom has a regular twin-size bed. All the bedrooms are upstairs. The living area, which includes a flat-screen TV and a couch, is upstairs between the bedrooms. The kitchen, the dining area, and the full bathroom are downstairs. There is also a spare refrigerator in the garage and an additional sink for your convenience.
We do recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle as a preferred vehicle in the mountains. Some small area of the easement road is a bit rough.

Summary: It was very nice and enjoyable. The house was perfect for my wife & I and our 5 year old daughter! There's a beautiful creek that runs through the property and the location is perfect to get out of town, but also be close enough to get their quickly if you need something. 5 stars!!

Summary: If you are wanting to get away, this place is it. Very large property, very private, no one to bother you. Approximately 20min away from anything. We are a family of four with a teen and preteen. Never ran out of things to do outside during the day, and plenty of internet to watch movies at night. The kids loved climbing the literal mountain on the property and searching for giant quartz rocks. Amazing view of Pikes Peak. All the beds were comfortable and plenty of linens. The kitchen was well stocked and the outdoor grill was very nice. As other reviews point out, the only bathroom is downstairs and the living room and bedrooms are upstairs. No big deal for us. They also point out there is no A/C. You don't need it. The house might get a little warm during a summer day, but at no point is it uncomfortable and as soon as the sun goes down you're going to be reaching for a sweater. As warned by the property owners, the final 1/4mi of road up to the house is kind of rough. Any SUV will be able to make it, leave your sports car at home. We would ABSOLUTELY rent this home again.

Summary: The stay started off a little rocky, but that was due to county permits. Julia, the owner, assured us and made us feel comfortable with the new process every step of the way. Upon arrival, the house was clean and exactly as the pictures showed. The only downside to this property....no air conditioning! At night and in the morning and mid morning it was great, but in the middle of the afternoon, in July!! It was so hot! 78-82 in the house. It would have been nice if the owner would have disclosed the fact there was no air conditioning in the house. We brought our own canopy to put on the deck . I highly recommend in the summer! But the creek was our relief. Nice and cool, clean water! I definitely recommend staying here. The views are amazing and you will not regret it! Our son is stationed at Fort Carson for a couple years and we will definitely stay here again!! Thank you Julia for all the hassle the county Karen caused! And I hope all is well your husband. Also, thank your son for his service to our country! God Bless!

Summary: The owner did not provide clear instructions in the house concerning checkout. I went by the instructions provided in the lease agreement, however the process for trash removal was wrong, cost me an extra 75$, also has oven was faulty and would set off carbon monoxide sensors

Summary: This is a nice spot for a relaxing getaway. The house is very clean and comfortable and the view is amazing. It's quiet and peaceful, although a bit remote, and quite a bit farther from CO Springs/Manitou than the title of the listing suggests. We were told a 4-wheel drive vehicle would be helpful, but the driveway had not been plowed at all from recent snow, so even with a Ford F-150, we were unable to drive up to the house without help from a very friendly neighbor with a tractor and plow. After a rough beginning, the rest of our stay was truly very nice.

Summary: The property is exactly as described and the owner/property manager is extremely efficient at communicating. Everything was clean, tidy and very neat upon arrival. Very clear instructions regarding use of furnishings and fixtures as well as local attractions stores etc. I would absolutely recommend this property to all my family and friends, and hoping to be back soon ourselves!
