Positive: Amazing hosts. Shali, his wife and mother were very kind and did everything to make our short stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage is in the middle of a paddy field surrounded by many spice plants and trees. So calm and peaceful. The home made local breakfast and dinner was delicious. You need to park the car on the main road and Shali was there with his Tuk Tuk to take us and the luggage to the cottage. There is a nearby river if you fancy a dip. The sky was very clear if you are interested in stargazing. I brought my portable telescope with me. We would certainly come back here next time we are in Bibile.

Negative: A couple of bedside tables would be very very helpful.

Positive: The young owner couple are sensationally nice! They drove us to a waterfall hike and swim nearby and walked us through their botanical gardens. Amazing! Food was authentic Sri Lankan home cooking and we found it better than in most other places. Beautiful surrounding! Quiet, relaxing... we - and especially our 5yrs old kid - truly loved it!!

Negative: ... not easy to find. Check with the owner before arrival. The place is between rivers and rice fields and the owner picked us up with this TukTuk from the street nearby. We enjoyed super scenic 8 min walk and the baggage was transported in the TukTuk. Great!!

Positive: This was an amazing experience. More than just accomodation - Sharli was also our personal tour guide while there, organising our day with helpful suggestions, transporting us around in his tuk tuk and explaining local sights history and culture. He was sensitive to our interests and took us to local temples, the Vedda centre, local lake paddle, swimming rock pool and more. A lovely genuine guy. The villa is v spacious and clean with a beautiful outlook to rice fields and mountains. The food is tasty and ample, prepared by his wife and mother. True local fare. Sharli arranged pick up from Udawalale and drop off at Ella, and even accompanied us, explaining sights along the way. This is amazing value for money! Not to be missed if you want to get off the beaten track in comfort and learn about Sri Lanka.

Positive: Shali & Malki were the best hosts ever!! Shali showed us the beautiful surroundings every day, some really secret places without the crowds and even more beautiful. Malki and Shali‘s mom cooked the best Sri Lankan dishes we had on our entire trip. They are such heartwarming, lovely people and we will for sure be back! Thanks for having us!

Positive: The stay was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. The generous hospitality of our host family, the local food they provided, the tours of the surrounding area and their farmland with mountain views painted a beautiful picture of the local community and the astounding nature surrounding it. We only wish we could have stayed longer. The place was serene and we countered no other tourists during our stay there, even while touring the local sights. If you're looking for a true Sri Lankan experience, fo here. They even have a secret waterfall swimming spot :) The accommodation itself was well maintained, the AC worked and we were provided tuktuk rides wherever we needed to go. The price was a bargain. Do not miss this opportunity.

Positive: Our stay at Crystal Water Inn with Shali and his wife was really the highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka! Shali and his wife have been the best host and are so kind and lovely. If you are looking for a very special and real Sri Lankan experience, this is it! A hidden gem in nature between the ricepaddies, a coconut farm en herbs and spices growing in the garden. They cooked the best Sri Lankan food for us and Shali showed us his beautiful farm, brought us to the top of a high mountain with amazing view and a beautiful waterfall. Every time we came back ‘home’ we felt so much peace. The energy at this place is magical and we feel really recharged after 3 days here :).

Negative: The wifi was not super strong, not a problem for us but maybe good to mention if you are planning to work here or stream films.
