The home is located in "CATSKILL PARK", only five mile away from the #1 most visited state park in New York, "NORTH SOUTH LAKE" where you can camp, picnic, hike, swim, sail, canoe, kayak or just experience the beautiful view of the "CATSKILL MOUNTAINS". Also, the home is 6 mile drive to the "KRT" trail where you can hike to the historical "Kaaterskill Falls" or hike on another nearby state trail. And, if you enjoy music, you can attend the "TAP NY" beer and food festival in May or "MOUNTAIN JAM" in June or "TASTE OF COUNTRY" music festival. These special events are held at "Hunter Mountain" ski resort and home of the largest Zipline in North America. And, if you have a passion for professional horse jumping, you can attend the "HITS" Saugerties series in Saugerties, New York which is only fifteen miles away. Then, in Hudson Valley, there is the "Franklin D. Roosevelt" mansion, the "Mills Mansion", "Thomas Cole Mansion", "The Vanderbuilt Mansion", The "Rockefeller Estate", "The Montgomery Place Historical Estate", "The Olana State Historical Site" and many more!! It's a great place to stay and experience all the historical areas of the mountain top and the surrounding "Hudson Valley". The apartment is very spacious, secluded and safe with plenty of room for children to play. We have enjoyed this area most of our life's and have raised our kids up here, so I am sure you will too!

Summary: The apartment was clean and we had all the things we needed for a long weekend to go to the NY Sheepand Wool show in Rhinebeck. Very close to trails and we had nice restaurants nearby in Tannersville. Would be great for a ski weekend at Hunter.

Summary: I was looking for a 2 bedroom place to stay for a long weekend vacation for myself, my daughter and her two small children. This home exceeded our expectations. The drive up the mountain might be a bit scary, but the views along the way make it worth it. I arrived a day before my daughter, and discovered the table in the kitchen was the perfect area to use to complete some of my grad school assignments. We made trips to the Duchess County Fairgrounds, Tivoli, and Saugerties. We were hoping for a nice hike, but the weather didn't cooperate. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: My autistic son and I were going to my daughter's wedding and needed a place away from the wedding activity. Donna& Derek's place was perfect. Just like home. Fully stocked with all the necessities, spotless and such a beautiful space. Hunter greeted us as we were checking in to be sure we didn't need anything and Derek stopped by the next day to say hi, with a present of the best eggs ever! Town is close for coffee or a meal and skiing is less than 15 minutes away. Thank you guys for a great stay on a special weekend.

Summary: We were greeted by the friendly hosts and made to feel at home right away. They were very attentive to all our needs. Our son joined us from NYC and our yellow Lab came along as well. The rooms were well decorated and neat and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans a cook needs--even an air fryer. Donna baked a delicious apple crisp for us, and delivered fresh eggs. Amazing hospitality! We all enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend D and D's Place. Happiness resides here!

Summary: Quiet, clean property which was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small kids (age 2.5 and 8 months). Hosts were very generous- a great experience! Definitely would recommend!

Summary: The house was very clean and as described, the yard is very big with woods to explore, which was perfect for our dog. It’s only a 10 min drive to Hunter mountain so was perfect for our ski trip! Hosts Dona and Derek were extremely friendly, brought us eggs, pies, cookies, chocolates, you name it! Thank you, we’ll be back!
