Positive: The host is expectional and will go all her way out to help no matter when. She's super kind and friendly. Speaks a bit of English and we maninly use transalator so to ensure communication is right.
Negative: a little pricey.

Positive: The hotel is everything you need it to be. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower has good water pressure. Laundry is self service and free with plenty of space to hang it on the roof. The location is especially great with lots of great restaurants near by and the ancient town only a short walk away. The two girls on reception were also very helpful!
Negative: It is quite difficult to find (I have attached some photos from each street corner to help future guests). We had to ask someone to help us but even they said that the address on booking.com is incomplete, so he called the property and took us to the corner where one of the reception girls met us. Apart from the room (which was great) the rest of the property could use a bit of TLC. The shared areas (living room and kitchen) need some attention (they are messy and unclean). We also had a yoghurt stolen from the fridge (so make sure you put anything you want to store in there in a bag). The air conditioner in our room also needed some maintenance (it leaked almost our entire stay and we were just told to put the bin under it). Not huge issues, just things to keep in mind ☺️

Positive: Perfect. Quiet and peaceful in the middle of bustling Dali Ancient Town. Room was nicer than most apartments! Contained within a courtyard wall are small outdoor seating areas and a rooftop laundry room. Close to North Gate, this place is a perfect base for exploring all of Ancient City as well as trekking further afield to Chongshen Si and San Ta (about half an hour walk). Scores of restaurants within seconds of walking out of the alley. Staff is exceptionally warm and helpful. The manager has tons of advice for exploring Dali as well as nearby environs.
Negative: Not really a complaint, but you'll need a bit of luck to find the entrance. Walk down 平等东路 (east) until you think you're on the wrong track, and then you'll see the square yellow sign 不羡山。

Positive: Its location nestled in a little lane was perfect for my sister and I, whom prefer the quiet and enjoy walking around the old town. This guesthouse is steps away from many eateries (yummy local dishes!) and within walking distance to the local market (where we bought lots of fresh fruits). The manager Xiao Huang was very helpful in arranging transportation for us and suggesting places to dine and visit; thank you!
Negative: Nothing. We love the peaceful environment it offered.
Summary: A quiet and relaxing guesthouse in the busy Dali Old Town that offered everything we needed within walking distance!
