1 Bedroom Cottage in Den Dolder

This lovely sun-drenched, luxurious cottage is located on the edge of the vast forests and farmlands of the Utrecht Landscape. It is a wonderful place to relax, walk or cycle. The cottage is furnished as a studio: the living room, kitchen and bedroom are in one space. The small but charming kitchen block is fully equipped. (magnatron, hob, Nespresso coffee machine). You can cook on a two-burner stove in the room where the refrigerator and oven are located. The bathroom has a spacious shower, a sink and a toilet. The living room has a lovely double bed, two easy chairs and a dining table with two chairs. The cottage has its own central heating system and can be heated in no time. Next to the house is a swimming pool, which you can use during the warm summer months. The table with umbrella and deck chairs by the pool belong to the guest house. At the front of the house is a shady seating area. For lovers there is a barbecue and an outdoor fireplace. In addition to Ziggo TV, there is Netflix and HBO.
For the record, the owners also use the swimming pool.
Nature:
The nature house is located in a cultural-historical protected area and is an excellent base for cycling and walking tours. For example, to the National Military Museum or to the Lage Vuursche (miniature golf and pancakes).
A nice trip can be walking to the Soester-Stuifduinen and then having lunch at the old train station in Soestduinen.
To Laren with its cozy village center and the Singer museum and its good eateries.
Sail on the bicycle boat from Baarn across the Eem to Spakenburg and return by bicycle.
Visit the many castles such as: Groeneveld, Sypestein, de Haar and the Muiderslot.
The loosdrechtseplassen where you can rent a boat for the water lovers.
Cycle to Bunnik to eat cherries in the orchards and visit the Oud Amelisweerd museum and the tea house at the Vecht.
New is the Waterline Museum Fort which will certainly appeal to the imagination.
The nice thing about this starting point is that there is so much culture to be seen in the immediate vicinity.
For example: Amersfoort with its wall houses and the Mondriaan house, Utrecht with its canals and the Dom tower and the Rietveld house.
In short, too many to mention.

Summary: Everything you need is here. Private and a lovely pool. Very quiet. The only small drawback is that the fridge is in another room but just a few feet away so it's a minor inconvenience. Dirk and Livia were extremely welcoming and accomodating.

Summary: We loved staying at the pool house! The amenities were perfect and it was a great experience for us! We walked down to the grocery store and cooked dinner every night. There is a national park meters away from the house and we enjoyed amazing afternoon walks through the woods. We were able to rent bikes close by and spent a day riding and enjoying the country views. Would definitely recommended this place for a couple looking to get away for some time. Diderik and Ellen were amazing hosts and super helpful with any questions we had about the area and things to do. We spent some time in Soest horseback riding and we loved it. We will definitely be back!

Summary: My husband and I had a wonderful 10 day holiday in Holland the cottage and area exceeded all our expectations, From the minute we arrived the owners made us feel so welcome such a lovely couple. They showed us the cottage and it was everything we wished for “A little home from home”. The pool was a refreshing bonas after a long day cycling . The area is a great base to cycle and visit the many lovely towns and villages. Diderik and Lidia were always there if we needed advice on restaurants and places to visit. I hope it won’t be too long before we can return .

Summary: We were fortunate to have wonderful weather and so access to a swimming pool was a real plus, though it has no 'shallow end' so could be a problem for some guests. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and made our stay a pleasure. The house itself was comfortable and well equipped, though having some of the kitchen equipment in the outside room could be awkward if the weather was poor. An ice box in the fridge would be helpful. The wifi worked well, and access to Netflix on the tv was a bonus. The location was good, with interesting cities (Utrecht and Amersfoort) nearby, and also wildlife at the Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve.
