This gorgeous detached cottage on the edge of the pretty Cotswold market town of Fairford, a short stroll to a selection of pubs and the market square for restaurants, shops and Lynwood’s, the best barista in the Cotswolds! The town and surrounding area is crisscrossed with many footpaths, to enjoy lovely walks in the Cotswold countryside and to explore the nearby Cotswold water park lakes. The nearby villages of Eastleach, Bibury, Hatherop, Quenington, Coln St.Aldwyns and a wealth of other beautiful Cotswold villages offering wonderful scenery and fantastic pubs and restaurants, all within a short walk, cycle or drive.
The town sits on a pretty stretch of the River Coln and is famous for its parish church of St Mary’s, which is perhaps the finest ‘wool church’ in the country – being the only church with a complete set of 28 medieval stained glass windows telling the story of the Bible.
Every Wednesday the market square is busy with a traditional market, and a continental market twice a year and a magical Christmas market on the first Friday of December.
For three days every year RAF Fairford hosts the world’s largest military air show – the Royal International Air Tattoo – book early as tickets sell out quickly.

Summary: Super cosy little cottage. Perfect for two people and a (not huge) dog. Brilliantly located, minutes walk from a number of pubs and shops in town but on a really quiet road. Everything has been thought of; pre-made fireplace, instructions to do it yourself, shoe dryer, soft blankets, games and puzzles for the inside days, guides for walks, pubs, food etc on days out. Loved it.

Summary: I was disappointed at the cleanliness. It seemed as just the bare minimum was cleaned. There is quite a bit of mold in every window and in the bathroom. The bathroom had cobwebs and multiple spiders. the shower and sink had pink mold as if it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. The baseboards and around furniture had thick dust built up. The house was cute and quaint but I won't be staying there again. Also if you are on the taller side be aware that the doorways and the ceiling as you come down the stairs are very low. My husband had to duck.

Summary: We (from the Netherlands) had a lovely stay in Wood Cottage in the beginning of November. We stayed in a lot of houses in Devon and Cornwall so we know what we like and Woodcottage was certainly one of them. We got a small dog and the enclosed garden was safe place. The kitchen was good equipped maybe some more cutlery and plates to fill the dishwasher more efficiently. The whole stay was enjoyable thank you.

Summary: A beautiful cottage, from the moment we walked through the front door, we felt right at home. It was warm and inviting. Everything to make life comfortable was available. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Sue & Guy had even placed, tea, coffee and wine, for us to enjoy, which was a really lovely gesture. A washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, all for our use. A gorgeous shower, really comfortable bed. A lovely home from home touch. Would definitely recommend it to our friends and would definitely return.

Summary: We booked in for a Monday - Friday stay and we were pleasantly surprised with how good Wood Cottage was. A cosy downstairs with unique features like the front door and the wood burner, matched with a modern bathroom and spacious bedroom upstairs. The garden was well maintained and secure for our dog to roam. The weather meant we weren't able to use the summer house (maybe next time!), but it's within walking distance of Fairford high street and it's pubs, shops and cafes. Would highly recommend!

Summary: While looking for a cottage to stay in, this one caught our eyes, and we were not disappointed. While the cottage itself is quite small it was everything we wanted: a cute farmhouse styled cottage in the cotswolds. We felt at home immediately and didn‘t want to leave. The location is beautiful and has loads of footpaths to explore the town and countryside. The home owners also prepared a folder with loads of information for us which made it super easy to find things to do! Will definitely come back!!! A huge thank you to the Home Owners!

Summary: The cottage was so cosy and comfortable. Very central and very welcoming. It felt like we were the first people to stay. We found our home away from home. Beautiful cottages and houses, scenic river walks, tea in the post office cafe, a pint in the local pub, the local church steeped in history with a one a kind stained glass window.
