Positive: The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location was very good for me and the price was affordable. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked.

Negative: The listing says there is parking on the premises, but neglects to mention that this is very limited, that nearby street parking is practically non-existent, and that nearby paid parking is expensive. Fortunately, I arrived early enough in the day to get one of the available spaces, but I would have liked to have been adequately informed about this before I booked the room. In addition, the room was very worn (worn patches in the carpet, which had not been thoroughly cleaned for years, I would say; torn and broken window curtains patched with duct tape; and a poorly maintained "split" style heating/AC unit -- it was effective, but much noisier than it should have been, and than other units of this type that I have experience with).

Summary: A good choice if you prioritize affordability and location, and don't mind the worn condition.

Positive: Great value, the facilities show wear but it is a great location. If you get there early for parking, just stay parked. As there are probably only 15 parking spaces. Hot showers, soft mattress. Pat twice as much as other hotels in the area.

Positive: Walking distance to BART and UC Berkeley. Cheaper than most other hotels in downtown Berkeley. Clean, and room was not cramped even with two people. Super friendly staff. Note: no breakfast is provided, and the hotel is across the street from a high school. That wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s worth knowing.

Negative: Bathroom a bit dated—not a bad thing, just an observation.
